Mine arrived today, I was so excited I tried fitting the TC SD bracelet immediately and didn't take any photos of the watch with it's original BP factory bracelet.

Anyway, here's the lug engravings, exactly the same as the superlumed SD serial numbers and marking that came out last year.

As expected, the TC SD bracelet's SELs are wide and didn't fit, so I took out the metal file set and get ready to shave.
DSC_1061_resize_zps973b62c8.jpg

This is the TC SD SEL before the job, plastic was left in the bracelet to protect the other links.
DSC_1062_resize_zps62573b3b.jpg

Shaving starts, alternating from side to side. After few strokes, I always try to fit the SEL to see if i've shaved enough.
DSC_1073_resize_01_zps4c2c6c03.jpg

After few minutes, one of the bracelet has a nice fit.
DSC_1064_resize_zpsc89db792.jpg

Repeating the process for the 2nd bracelet until it fits too.
DSC_1065_resize_zps01c753ad.jpg

Using the fine sandpaer, I smoothened the sides of the SEL before putting it in the watch. When I used the springbars that came with the BP SD, the TC SD bracelet moves around a little bit, so I used the 2mm springbars that came with the TC SD bracelet. The 2mm springbars made the fitting nice and tight.

I'm happy with the BP factory SD and the TC SD bracelet combo, they are perfect for each other.

Wristshot to finish the operation, I'm just happy that I didn't mess this up.

Mad cat. Exactly how bad is the BP bracelet compared to the TC. I emailed TC for one 4 days ago with no reply yet. Watch looks great!!

The BP bracelet endlinks has the usual "protruding" connection to the next link, SEL fitting is a bit lower on the lugs you can see a gap between the top of the SEL and the bezel. And the clasp is really terrible... :D

Look at that perfect fit!

Nice job MCL, thanks for sharing the eye candy.

I still haven't pulled the trigger on one of these. Lovely looking watch but I don't find myself getting too excited over sub/SD's anymore.

Thanks D, besides the PO, the SD is my favorite watch. I've bought, sold, and broken a few, spent on SSDv2 modding, broke an Asian ETA while the modder is installing TC DWO, and practically waited for a version that would finally match the TC SD bracelet that I had for almost a year. Thankfully ebzen started this thread and now I have an SD that I'm very happy with.

Sorry, I've read through like 12 pages of this thread and am still a little unclear what sets this new BP apart from the old Ultimate SD. I already own an Ultimate (Asian clone, no mods) and is there any reason for me to get one of these besides to have a spare to beat around?

Thanks!

The BPSD has better:

Lume
Rehault
CG's
Crystal
Pearl

compared to your unmodded Noob SD.

I'll have bezel pics uploading in a few minutes. The construction is not like the V2 or the other Replica Rollies that used a plunger or disk click spring. This one actually has the tension ring style construction. Sadly the teeth are angled instead of triangle like the gen.

20130513_124050_zps6e585ade.jpg

(From TC's blog on the sub.) Notice the teeth?

tcsubvseries05.jpg

tcsubvseries06.jpg

The BP case does however have a milled slot for the gen short style spring.

Conclusion if there was one today, ;) get a good copy of a gen bezel and try it on this, (sub wont work too thin) I bet it will fit.

I am very excited about this replica. Just seeing that friction spring almost gave me a :schwing2:

The crystal looks a lot like the M series SD imo.

25 Teeth on the Rep Crown I counted, should be 24. That was the same for the prior models. So the crown has to go as has been stated. ;)

btw, what hands fit this new 2813 25j movement?

ETA 2824 hand dimensions are as follows:

Hour: 150 (1.50mm)
Minute: 90 (0.90mm)
Seconds: 20 (0.20mm)

DG2813 hands are as follows:

Hour: 150 (1.50mm)
Minute: 100 (1.00mm)
Seconds: 17 (0.17mm)

Make your own decision on that. ;)

So the mods needed for this are:

New hands (Clarks or possibly gens)
New Crown (Gen) (tube as well?)
Bracelet replaced

Anything else?

Cheers

That's what I am going for, although will be using TC parts.

1. TC Bracelet.
2. TC Crown/Tube
3. TC Hands

I reckon the lume on the TC hands will match the BP SD dial very well, as it is very close to the lume on my TC sub.

Thanks Rols, so are you sourcing the parts from a spare watch or are you ordering the parts from somewhere?

Cheers

I have the bracelet on order from TC, and have just emailed him about the hands and the crown/tube, hopefully he has them in stock, links below.

The Clarks Hands I received look a tad better. In daylight, they are white like the dial markers. The lume looks the same as the existing hands which don't match the dial.

I'm not using them.

Mine just arrived.

Impressions:

Insert and pearl look great!

Bezel clicks sound like gen most of the time, not plasticky like my noob subc. However in some spots during turning the bezel it suddenly does not click. I suspect oil or dirt inside.

Anyone has an idea how to fix this?

Bezel is a little loose. Too much play when in place.

Dial is good. 6 marker maybe ever so slightly tilted. Or?

Case back very nice.

Crown not so smooth in unscrewing.

Date centered on all dates except 20+, left alligned.

Bracelet low quality but a bit better with some baby oil.

Hands are the biggest let down. Have to fix this.

Where to start... The bezel is very very very hard to spin. Feels like you are going to break it every time you try to spin it. The bracelet is just horrible. Not to big of a deal because TC combo is on the way. The last link on the bracelet closest to the case actually rubs on the case.
Along with all of that, the end link wobbles pretty bad. Not secure at all. Looks like no gap when you hold the bracelet one way and the other way opens a big gap like this.

Also the quick set date feature does not work
And the movement just doesn't feel right when setting the date. Are you supposed to hear a clicking sound as if you are spinning the movement as you push the crown down and tighten it?

Overall just not happy with it. The only good part about this watch is the pearl!

So this confirms another part of the info we have:

-External look is the same as ETA but the "insides" should be different.
-Stem is different from ETA but Crown/tube should be the same.
-Same dial feet position as eta. Different locking method using screws but works as good.
-Hands have the same tube size as eta.
-Movement ring works for eta.
-No quick change date at midnight, slow like the a7750's.

With this movement one should be able to make a direct swap replacing only the movement and stem. Or the other way around, you could use an ETA compatible crown and hands and keep the same movement.

Ok after a few hours working on this thing I am a little bit happier with it. TC bracelet should make this thing pretty good. I HATE the hollow mid links on this thing! But a little bit of baby oil did the trick for now.

Greased all the gaskets, baby oil on the bracelet and gave it a deep clean. Here is the finished product.

Overall this is a damn good rep. Would deff recommend either a Swiss or Asian ETA.
This is by far the best rep pearl I have ever seen!
If you plan on buying this, go ahead and factor in another 45$ for a TC bracelet because it is a must.

Here is the rep-Dial as I got it:

This is the same SD with TC-Dial and TC-Hands:

I think it's not a great diffence. The printing on the TC dial maybe a little bit better though.
I ordered it because I wanted to be sure that the lume of the dial and hands fit each other.
