I didn’t take any pics of the endcap jewels, but these are much easier than those silly Kif Springs!!

I think we may have the next Oascom here. I love following this work!

I really appreciate that man! But in no way am I the next Oascom...he has way more experience and training than I do! He has been one of the reason I have continued to work and learn about watches for sure...his thread is great.
Problem is...I will run out of watches to share sooner or later hah! I would love to lend my help to other forum members on servicing and basic modification, but that is a slippery slope!

Well after sitting for 24 hours running, 6497 is running good for the PAM111. Got it regulated well...and I know the silly phone app...timegrapher is due in on Wednesday!

Can’t tell the amplitude unfortunately...

Case polished up nice. Didn’t have any deep enough scratches to bust out the Dialux Paste.

ZD5XHr.jpg

All cased up. I did notice a small nick on the seconds hand, so I’m going to bust out the white enamel paint tomorrow and do a quick touch up.

All the orings got 8213 grease.

I also use a Horotec mini press that I love. Closes and opens anything I’ve thrown at it.

I know a super crappy picture, but the lighting in my office is not conducive to pictures in the evening!

Took awhile but I got the seconds hand looking nice. Used some flat white enamel paint to re-coat the hand, while not getting it in the lume area!

Will be recasing everything tomorrow and finished!

Hah!!

This 111 is one of my favorites unfortunately. Re-lumed, new crystal (although there wasn't much difference to be honest), service of course, micrometric screw installed so it works properly, Gen Incoblocs installed, and now a newly painted seconds hand.

The pics will continue to come! I have another PAM coming up shortly.

Okay guys! On to the next! I did get the PAM111 cased back up and the Timegrapher readings were +1 sec/day, 265 AMP, and .1ms beat error. I'm going to come back to that amplitude...a bit low for my liking.

Up next is a 2824. Specifically the ARF 126600 V3.

ZVuz4b.jpg

Opening the case back using the Horotec Mini Opener. Expensive, but it's great!

ZVuvvL.jpg

A couple disassembly pics. "New and Improved Rotor" they say...you mean the decorated screw!

ZVuyG2.jpg

ZVu1HK.jpg

Timegrapher pic for reference when i reassemble. Not bad...but don't be fooled!

ZVuJEd.jpg

Automatic module with some grime, and a lot of crap around the crown wheel.

On to the mainspring! Changing it up a bit. Cleaned the mainspring, used 8213 again on the barrel walls, then just added a couple drops of HP-1300 on the spring instead of 9504 grease.
Worried it may cause some “sticking” down the road.

ZV6tJs.jpg

Barrel installed.

ZV63f6.jpg

Also oiled and installed the endcap jewels. I also tried to adjust the roller jewel to be more centered, but we can adjust on the timegrapher too for beat error.

Silly me...keyless works is first. HP-1300 is used in all locations. I still Epilame these pieces as well.

ZVKWUp.jpg

Now barrel, intermediate wheel, and bridge installed.

ZVKp8q.jpg

Train wheels, escape wheel, and bridge installed. HP-1300 and 9010 used.

Post timegrapher pic! I’ll let the watch run for 1-2 days before adjusting, but already looks great.
Refinished the bracelet too.

Slight improvement today on the movement. Amplitude was bouncing between 289 and 293 which to me is an optimal spot.

Regulated it in four positions as best as possible. Crown up was the worst at around -5 sec/day. Shown below is dial up.

stupid and ignorant question. When you regulate in one position are you compromising a bit on the others ? How does it work ?
