Hey Everyone!

It's been a really long time since I've posted....7 months!!

Primarily been posting over on Instagram, give me a follow there! I try to post weekly with stuff I'm working on.
Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/krewekrono/
And as always, if you need any work on your watches, feel free to reach out. Email is below, and that is my preferred method. I'm booked to April 2025, so not running too long of a wait right now.

Also, keep in mind I still stock a decent amount of parts for customers. I keep the following in stock, and I can get other stuff relatively quickly if needed.

- Crystals, all popular models
- Crowns, all popular models
- Tubes
- Retaining Rings (11, 12, 116710) and Clicks for GMTs
- Crystal Gaskets
- Hytrels
- Date wheels (All popular models)
- Some hands
- Reversers
- Barrels
- Bezel Rings
- Balance Wheels (No 4130 as that's exchange only)

Some interesting things I've come across in the last several months....picture heavy....

Got the chance to work on an Omega 8500 movement. Was a pleasure to work on, and well made. The coaxial escapement was a pain to lubricate, but if you take your time and have good magnification, it isn't too bad.

Had a 3035 that gave me quite a bit of pain. Had three major issues. Second wheel was bent, minute pinion was the older style with the plastic jewel setting and this was worn, and the third wheel was warped. The third wheel took me some time to find, as the error would only manifest every 8 minutes. But once I saw that, and threw the wheel on some truing calipers...if was apparent. But at the end it was brought within spec.

And lastly how about some 3235 goodness. Such a nice movement, and very service friendly.

Thanks for looking!

Excellent work! Brave of you to take on the Omega. I've stopped working on them due to lack of spare parts (and maybe some willingness on my part).

Love seeing your nice clean photos. Crazy how far you've come.

Morning All,

Had a 1675 come through with a 1570, and thought I'd share. This movement needed a bit of work.
Movement came in generally "clean", but the Timegrapher presented a different story.

- Barrel Lid was bowed up. Barrel was rubbing on the main plate, and had improper lateral endshake.
- Hairspring required slight adjustments to center around collet.
- Center wheel required bushing install in main plate. Had too much side shake.
- Post for date corrector was too loose. Required reducing hole size and pressing back in. Date was not changing correctly.
- Banking pins were bent causing irregular timing and amplitude. These were straightened back out.

Some pics below. Post overhaul timegrapher looks much better, and well within Rolex specifications.

Morning All!

Figured I'd post a few more shots of what has been on the bench as of late, and a small upgrade to the work area!

A 3135 that had been previously worked on about 2 years ago. Little to no oil, no grease on the escapement, rust on the train wheel pivots, and a balance that was neither regulated or adjusted for near zero beat error (Gen Balances don't just fall out of regulation)....

A 4130 in for standard overhaul. Pretty cool dial on that one.

And finally a small upgrade to the bench. My workspace area is fairly close to my actual PC, which I use to access my timegrapher and other items. I got a bit tired of having to turn around to see those items, so i decided to pic up a small monitor and mount it directly in front of me.
Now I can access everything directly from the bench!

I have a Valjoux 72 on the bench now, awaiting some new parts. Once I get going on that one Ill share some pics of that movement and progress.

Morning All!

Some pics from the last couple of weeks!

Finished up that Valjoux 72! It was really rusty (Hairspring was badly rusted), so the final results were not perfect...

Had a 4130 come through that required a balance replacement...rep on this one. Watch was running dial up, but not running dial down...one of the telltale signs of a broken balance staff. After replacement all worked just fine!

Had a SeaDweller come through with a badly damaged dial. This is why you send your watches to professionals. Looks like a lume job messed up the dial and hands on this one.

And then a nice 126610LV and Daytona!

Enjoy!

Love the updates. Always a pleasure to see how clean your setup is. It's a good reminder to me that I need to take days here and there to de-clutter my bench.

Morning Everyone.

Had a really special watch come in for service recently. A Patek 5711 with the 324 caliber....and not a rep!
It was a pleasure to service, but definitely much different than the usual Rolex Movement. These are finished well beyond what a Rolex is, but I question the long term reliability. There are several small springs within the movement, that just look weak.
Also the winding mechanism is just "noisy". Its unidirectional, and not that quiet. Seems as if Patek could design a much more efficient winding system for the watch! They do use ceramic ball bearings were necessary, and those do not get lubricated.

Enjoy the pictures!

It is indeed noisy. Not sure to the extent of the rep, but much more so than say a 3235 Rolex movement.

Still so beautiful though.

I mean those black polished screws. It's those small details that make you realize rep is rep, gen is gen. You can see it in your photos too, they're reflecting black. Not to jerk Patek off and high horology but that's what I love about watches.

Some goodies from over the weekend.
Finished up a Explorer II build with all gen goodies besides the movement.

Was also able to get my hands on some new holders. Specifically for the 15XX and 30XX automatic modules, 4130 Trainwheel Bridge, and the 4130 Hammer. These are well made aftermarket holders. Reach out if you are interested in learning who made them...they will certainly come in handy for me!

Also found the typical worn out intermediate wheel on a 3285 automatic module....seen this too many times. Under lubrication most likely is the cause.

Hey All,

Been a bit since I've posted some shots from the bench.

Has a older 16013 come through for an overhaul, with a 3035 caliber. Client also requested the bezel be changed back to the original, and a new acrylic crystal be installed. Was able to source both and get it done!

Daytona franken passed through as well. ARF dial looks pretty good on this one.

And lastly a gen 3135, that belonged to a Turnograph.

Enjoy!
