the 005 they can never get the caseback, cg, or dial right so far... so i had to get the gen. i love this one!
Yeah, for how long, I wonder
LOL!
The dial indices config and the "new" way of filling the numeral and indices grooves with Luminova is sort of new for Panerai of Richemont-Vendome era.
I know for a fact G-series 005 dial wasn't done this way, it was done the same way as 111 E/F/G Series, with sausage (spagetti) dial, where you could see the little 'bump' in luminous paint, and a very small groove surounding the edge of numerals and indices.
The pics from FFlav show a change, IMO, change for better, and I like it, it reminds me very much on pre-V and pre-A Tritium dial historics, where the lume was applied on top of the painted bed, creating that sunken look. This slao can present a great challenge when trying to recreate 5218-20X/A series reps, as DSN can attest at this very moment - it's extremely hard to do it by hand!
Well, one thing seems certain -
we can't call or refer to the current gen 000/005 historics as the ones with sausage dials, anymore !
