A free sprung balance does not have a regulator to adjust the timing , is done with inertia weights on the balance wheel
thanks Raddave
crunchycarrot00 it's expensive to adjust free spring movements. just say the movement manufacturer could supply pre-timed/configured movements. once the dial and hands are installed, there will need to be a timing check. the rep factory will go from producing say 500 reps a day to say 20. it takes more skill to adjusted a weighted balance.
i have a tissot powermatic 80 movement installed in my AP diver. PM80 are closest cousin to 'free sprung', they are laser adjusted from the factory and no regulator for fine adjustment. i doubt any watch modder can service that PM80 when it dies and hope the 2824 balance can be installed.

Raddave wow i didn't realize. i thought that visible screw was holding the hairspring.
learned something and look like these PM80 can be adjusted with a lot of patience
Finally the SA324 movement comes out... not from V6F but from a New 3K maker... Same size as genuine PP 324SC movement.
the movement is printed instead of engravings.....
but it's a good starting.
Just heard that ZF and PPF will use this movement later, and will engrave it.
Godfathar here you go mate - enjoy.
BIONONE Thanks for writing what many of us are thinking mate.
I agree totally. This is a big step forward. It will open up a whole new world within Patek watches. If they can clone the modules which Patek build on to the 324SC movements, we can possibly get functional and very correct annual calendars, pilot watches etc.
I would buy a 5711 with a clone movement (when released) just to support, so they maybe go forward making clone movements for other Pateks.
I can’t understand how this Maker sell the product, and in same time sell the movement for same watch to another maker?
