IMO the rehaut font looks ok when compared to google and the gen i saw from the AD. It's just that i wished the ARF's rehaut was engraved a bit deeper or darker. I am tempted to sand it as well and see if it's ok to engrave a D-series serial number onto the lug

The rehaut might need a polish.

Haha it's gonna cost some money but once you have heard nice earphones from a decent player with flac.. then it's hard to go back to terrible iPhone earphones!

There are a lot of cheap but ultra high quality IEMs coming from China btw. I recommend the magaosi k3 IEM - they sound detailed (because it uses Knowles twfk BA drivers) with a dynamic driver for bass. Overall, it sounds so damn good for $100 usd only. I am a massive Knowles BA drivers fan and big companies like UE, westone, etymotic, etc uses Knowles drivers. Sony however uses their own proprietary drivers and they have their own kind of sound signature

Thanks for sharing this Pom. I had ventured on head-fi.org some time ago, but if you think the rep "business" is complex and confusing, wait till you'll see what that is about . I invite anyone curios to take a look at the head-fi forum and see for themselfs the overwhelming complexity of the hobby.

Tbh sony xba-a3 iems were among few hi-fi headphones tested while in Singapore, so out of that small lot the sonys impressed me the most. Where i live, you rarely get to find and or more than that, be able to listen to good quality headfones. All you see around here are cheap sony,pioneer, jbl and mostly gaming h.phones.

What i disliked about the sony headphones was the shape and the fact that they stick out of the ear so much.

Another pair of great sounding headsets tested this year were the new sony noise cancelling 1000xm2 if i remeber well.

Thanks for pointing these chinese ones.

I'll surely give them a go if under 100 usd. What other chinese good iems and hifi portable player would you suggest ?

I like the base to be proeminent but not annoying

Another question about the “minute rail” that is most of the time out of place with the ARF. Is it easy to re align that when installing the gen dial? Or is it just misprint of the rep dial?

I was a frequent lurker on head-fi. Before I started with franken watches, I have tried building my own IEMs using taobao IEM cases, MMCX connectors, and random BA drivers (with my futile attempts to design crossovers), and I have made many cables and repaired earphones for fun. The head-fi language used by members for describing sound is almost as hard to decipher as WWII enigmas.

I have these Magaosi K3 and they sound balanced to me without sounding boring or too thin/shrill. The Knowles TWFK BA drivers inside provide the right amount of sparkle and highs needed as well

As for player, it depends on your budget and needs but you certainly have to spend a lot for decent sound

With earphone and players/dac/amp/source.. there will be diminishing return - the more you spend, the less incremental benefit you will get

It's holding up just fine like my gen
I love the heft, weight, and bling of the modern Datejust 36mm. I wish that the older Datejust cases and bracelets were as heavy as this

i have seen variations on gen where the train track isn't perfectly centred

IMO from experience, it all depends on the SH3135 movement because the SH3135 movement's dial feet holes aren't always drilled centred (which also causes the date disc to not centre within the dial's window because the dial is sitting wrongly)

Therefore, it is the fault of the movement (happens to yuki 3135 as well, and when i mount my gen 16610 dial onto a SH3135) and not the dial misprint

I have just read this entire thread. It is absolutely fantastic. What an impressive set of reps. I personally think that ARF has really set the bar high and I am extremely jealous not to have one these pompompurin well done!
