I couldn't make up my mind either. In the end I took the (a bit more modern) oyster. But when I see your DJ, the jubilee seems to go better with the fluted bezel. In addition, the roman numerals are very classic, which also suits the Jubilee very well. All in all, you made the perfect choice. I wouldn't change anything about this fine watch and enjoy its beauty.

pompompurin or anyone else who knows - can you confirm that some versions of the 116234's came gen with AR on the crystal? I am doing a light franken build and would like to include a gen AR crystal in it.

Also - are the lug engravings on the ARF v1/2 good?

They do.

I have just finished my wife's franken.
Gen hands
Gen dial
Gen xtal
Gen dw
Gen autowind (complete)

It was the hardest watch to franken. Removal of the bezel without demaging it was a pain in the a**. Also installing it back was a bit though. I have never forced a bezel to the gasket with this amount of force before. I was sure that I was going to crack the xtal.

Watch now looks like just came out of the AD.

Yes, and you can request it when you buy a new 116234 from an AD.

The rehaut engravings are acceptable but IMO not ROLEX standard. So I removed and made it a Z serial. Not sure on lug

Guys, i have a little question regarding the crystal: i had a look at some gen 116234 DJs some time ago and some seemed to have a black hole effect, whereas some dont. Do gen DJs come with different crystals? So AR and non AR? I'm still arguing with myself to buy a gen crystal for my ARF, but still undecided...

EDIT: Just read above, that you have to request AR. Sorry for that.
