Different watch mate
That’s the latest summer blue edition . The rep is based on th 1st release ultra deep which just has the standard fade dial with no kindergarten kids scrawl on it.

Damn, those UD look really good, you guys are driving me crazy with your QCs and wristshots. This watch is too big and too heavy, but hell I need one !

It’s the VSF one.
Be careful with the crown assembly. Despite my best efforts on mine it stripped after minima use. Out of all the rep factories…VSF make the worst crown and crown tube assemblies - absolute rubbish.

I had to have mine repaired and modified to be a push pull crown to avoid future recurrence. I guess you could say I got “screwed”

Noob were not too far behind them and actually Omega themselves are not great. I have bought so many gen crowns over the years. Harder to get now since the Swatch Group has clamped down on parts. I keep a lot of my POs on winders to stop messing with the crowns.

Yeah I've been aware of the VSF's thread stripping issues thanks to your previous warning posts. My VSFs go straight to the winder :)

I have an Ultradeep and a Tai Chi and so far no problems but I'm sure I will have them.
How can I get ahead of the problem?
If I suffer from it before, what is the solution?
I have a local watchmaker who works with replicas but I would have to explain it to him, is this difficult to solve?

If it strips you will need a new crown. It used to be relatively easy to pick a gen one up at a reasonable price but that has changed. I do not know if there are rep crowns available I am sure there are.

It depends on how often you use the watch. For me I wasn’t using the UD that often so when I want to wear it I had to unscrew the crown and adjust the time each time. After perhaps 20+ times over many months I noticed that it wasn’t screwing in as it should. 1 week after that it stripped .

My fix was to take it to my friendly local RWI member and watchmaker and have the crown and tube threads cleaned and stripped completely and the stem shortened. This basically converts it from a screw in crown to a push / pull crown. No more screwing out to adjust the time. When it’s pushed in completely you can manually wind it and then pull 1 click out and you adjust the time and push it back in. Not expensive to do and works perfectly. The VSF UD has a gasket inside the crown so even as a push pull set up it’s still sealed which would make it ok for washing hands and light water splashes etc…..

Does this problem happen on all VSF Planet Oceans or only on the Ultradeep ones?
It’s hit and miss. I’ve had 2 x VSF seamster 300’s and both stripped. I’ve had 1 x Ultra deep - stripped. I’ve got a Deep black Planet ocean ceramic that I’ve had for years and it’s fine. I’m not rough with any of my watches. I’m always careful with all my reps and none of them are overused or abused. I have many many many screw down crown watches in both gen and rep and the only watches I’ve had with stripped crown are from VSF. I can only surmise from this that’s it definitely more akin to VSF and that their crown and crown tube quality is sub par.

I only have the UD in VSF. I have a few Noob POs. It can happen to them too. It also happens to Gen Omegas.

Has anyone else had issues with the diver extension just sliding out from regular movement? seems like my orange UD doesn't have enough spring pressure under the "push" button allowing it to slide out... super annoying
