Yikes, just for the movement? That feels steep when the whole watch is 538ish through TDs.

Ok, I didn't know there was a printed version vs an engraved version. I would assume they're cross compatible in terms of parts? I don't mind printed vs engraved to be honest. Like I mentioned, I haven't bought anything yet, just feeling out how supportable this one will be vs other mainstream reps

They are identical except the visible bridges are engraved instead of printed. Take off your rep and take a closer look at your movement, the words on your movement bridges and the PP seal are printed.

I hope to not necro a thread but, is the DD324 capable of accepting gen parts such as the balance wheel, which is pretty much the biggest difference in here?

Afaik nope without serious mods. Unfortunately this movement is not a DD4130 level clone.

What about the new DD330? But not even sure if in that case 324 and 330 share the same balance wheel, I read somewhere else that some factory had made a free sprung movement for PPs but never actually found those offered for sale

Nope, if you want a decent Patek movement you need to bite the bullet and spend the money (almost 2K) and get a true clone with a free-sprung balance. But, if you can't afford that, don't fret. it still looks great on the wrist because no one can see the MVT, can they?

Check Chazingtime - they offer both variants of the highly sophisticated 324 with free sprung balance (VSV) and the Lite version with just a refinish of the bridges (ACE/PPMF) without free sprung balance for significantly less (at ~700 USD)

I saw the VSV last week and the engravings / finishing of the movement aren’t good and it has some reliability problems.. at the moment is better to choose the PPM movement.

That is cool but do they sell a full version ? I mean a 5711 plus the PPMF already inside ?
I didn’t find it on their website and I don’t see myself doing the swap

Not the PPMF but VSV finish with custom SW dial. Not a bad deal - no personal experience with their builds though.

In the link the engravings appear to be of poorer quality indeed compared to the higher priced option of the same „VSV“ upgrade but with free sprung balance or hidden regulator arm.

In this case it might be wise to send cahzingtime a message because he offers the green dial 5711 with PPMF movement which looks pretty neat. Should be feasible to swap the movement/dials etc.

Maybe the vsv engraved plates are just decorative and could be swapped out for better engraved ones, or are those functional?
