Did the factory make any changes to the 799?

The dial of 1616 that I have, like the gen has this sort of shimmer to it when it hits the sun.

The gen 799 has that same effect but the rep I have just has a plain flat balck dial.

I just saw a 799 listed in a sales thread that looks like it has that shimmer or its like a metallic flake effect. But it could just be low ligh, blurry pictures too.

Pictures are gen just to show what I'm taking about.

VSF released a new batch soon after they reopened factory. I’ve seen pics of Pam 799 new batch and they look pretty much the same.
the biggest flaw is inaccurate blue shade on hands, markers and Perl.

can you post that pics of 799 you saw in sale section.

A new batch? Really? Hmm....

the thing is, the effect on thendial is subtle. I wore the 1616 today and didn’t give that dial effect at all and you wouldn’t really know it’s there unless you look at it or catch it in a certain light. But it’s there. The 799 gen is supposed to have that same effect - it’s very subtle. The gen Panerai is a lot more noticible and drastic in that effect.

On the gen, You can look at the 799 and 1616 30 different ways and in certain light, You see that effect. On the reps the 1616 has it (to a lesser extent) but the early 799 I have doesn’t have it at all. And the 799 came out after the 1616 too. It makes you wonder why they didn’t do it.

Ive been scouring the earth looking for a gen dial for the 799 but no chance of thatbas it’s a brand new model. Lol.

Anyway here is the thread. It’s like the 1st and last 2 pics where maybe I see it. I’m going to email a few dealers tomorrow and investigate a little.

It’s just lightning playing tricks.
I wish they come up with upgrades like more accurate blue color.

How does the case look to you?

The titanium rep one looks a little bit blurry/foggy

The gen bmg looks more shiny..

Or is it just me?

Hi guys, I’m going to purchase a VSF 799. Just a question: is the case in solid titanium?? This is what I read on TD

Anybody knows if now VSF placed a correct P.9010 clone (not a 9000 relabeled)?
