When I'm feeling BLUE, all I've got to do, is take a look at you...

Damn it looks good! I've seen here and some other places people complaining about the lack of sunburst-effect on this rep, but the photos posted here shows that there really is a sunburst effect. Also, I can't see that the gen has more sunburst effect when comparing youtube videos:

Gen:

Rep:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BogTvfp2sAM

I'm very tempted to get this as my first Pam :)

For me it has enough sunburst effect :)
It's a beauty, you won't regret buying it (if your not the Sly or Arnie type, because it's only 42mm ;) )

So PureTime released the new VSF (=V6F) version today with the latest 9001:
https://puretime03.com/pam688-s-vsf...on-blue-leather-strap-p-9001-super-clone.html
Unfortunately still with the wrong case/lugs... Perhaps this is a prototype. The new, slimmer 1950 42mm case has been available for a while now (Pam1523, pam 1392), so I don't quite understand why they would not use it...

As far as I can tell, the slimmer case has only been used in conjunction with rep P.9010 movements, not the P.9000/9001 one. There might be some thickness difference in the decorative plates used hence the need for a thicker case, which unfortunately has the incorrect lugs for this particular model.

Very nice watch. This could be my first PAM.
I am just wondering if the GMT hand could be hidden under the normal hour hand as long as not in usage?

Thanks for clarifying, @mysterio. Makes sense. Nevertheless, a wonderful watch!

I just bought the V6F version as my first PAM and I'll post QC pics and pics once I get the watch. I haven't seen a gen 688 in the wild so I won't be able to compare the two.

I'm not so good at spotting visual flaws, and I have tried to compare pics of this one with pics of the gen. In what way are the case and lugs wrong? (I don't suggest that there isn't a difference, I just can't see it :) ).

First off no-one is going to tell a 12hr GMT from a 24hr GMT by looking at it for 20 seconds. LOL - its actually impossible to tell especially on this watch. Although I do agree the factories should fix it - its an easy fix.

Secondly its a limited edition. For you to meet someone on the street who will know all the intricate details of this particular PAM is a big fat ZERO. Its a beautiful watch and enjoy it.

Reminds me of the Rolex section on here. Soooo many experts in there but in reality the they dont know jack. The REAL people on here that are experts on Rolex usually keep their mouth shut and let the circus play out. LOL

What I am trying to say is enjoy the watch for what it is - beautiful. In my many years on here there is not a single person that will know if the crown is a little off, the sunburst is not quite right or the CG is slightly wrong. Enjoy the hobby.

Yep, pity about the movement. You just need a gear to turn 24 into 12. Local circus talking here. :lmao:

Just got my VSF PAM 688 from Lucy today. It definitely has a slight sunburst effect on the dial. The leather strap is like wearing beef jerky. It's a little big for my 6.75" wrist but I'm used to wearing 39 mm Rolexes.
