After looking at the close up images here - http://www.horbiter.com/en/panerai-luminor-submersible-1950-carbotech-sihh-live/#!prettyPhoto[gallery]/0/

I think I'll have to wait til V2/V3/V4/ etc. come out. The close ups on the above link ( mods, it's not a sales link ), make the Carbotech look amazing.

Life... is too short...

A new purge, Mao style, in China...? A real customs clamp down? Who knows what might happen!

EDIT: Strange, the centre nipple is black in the pics in that link, and there's no serial number on the back, like the KW/V6F.

And we now have a challenger! ;)
http://www.intime.co/panerai/2121-p...on-on-blue-logo-black-rubber-strap-p9000.html

Main difference that I can see is that the surface seems to be smoother on the ZF, there is a serial number with R-series and the lume is...blue!? Which lume color is the correct one?

I thought the gen wasn't actually available until later this year, so we won't know until then.
I recall last year's fuss about the Omega Seamaster coaxial, which every one thought from the images had a sandwich dial. And the reps were made with one. But when the gen came out, the dial just had deep indents for the lume...

Actually I'm thinking of hacking my Carbotech a bit. I think the gold minute markers look a bit out of place, so I may use modellers enamel to recolour them more like the ZF version!

Blue lume kinda makes sense and works well with the overall color scheme. If the gen's blueprint didn't call for one, it really should! Gotta give props to the ZF maker. [emoji1]

Sorry if this has been discussed before but are their any concerns with this watch and the 7750 movement? I'm really liking the look and I've had really nice success with the 2836 and 2824 (CrPO and Tudor BB). I'm just wondering if you guys think another movement may eventually make it into this watch and one should wait or this watch with the 7750 shouldn't cause concern.

Thanks guys.

I think that may have been a sample or prototype in the link. The website that did the review got 30 minutes of wrist time, and on the back , under the right side of the titanium back, it looks like there is glue or some sticky substance on the case. If the watch isn't supposed to be out yet, there is one for sale on chrono24 for $17,400 , says available immediately.

so after all is said and done it appears that the earlier V6 is best- bezel with better colors, and that is probably the most obvious part. Is there any reason to buy ZF over V6? Both priced the same it seems.

I doubt that any of them will get the multiple shading colors of the gen correct at least in the foreseeable future as they have so many more models to work on. That is a shame since the real uniqueness of this 616 is the variations in bezel shades it seems to me.

+1 Even the H-Factory version, which never got out after it was teased, does not improve on the layering although toro has stated the finish looks better.
