Wet sanding...how did you do that with this small object? Please explain. Thanks.

Sent from the RWI mobile app

Hi.
I am not sure if wet sanding is the correct name for it... I mean using sandpaper Grit 1200 or 1500 with water by hand.
The front of the bezel was easy - the side as shown in the last pic was a bit more difficult. I used a 5•2 cm piece - folded just a bit on the middle so it will not bend so easy - and then just carefully sanding the little edge on the bezel...worked magic.

please, need a little help deciding which route to go here. at the moment, which is the best pam382 rep out? kw seagull movement? or the v6f?

I was in that same situation before deciding and a well respected authority here PMed me that in his opinion the KW was the best. Lately some of the QC pics in this thread have shown a few small flaws with both makers, the KW and ZF. Some of these things matter to some people and don't matter at all to others but you could post your pics here and get other people's opinions. That's the whole point of this thread.
Good luck with whatever maker you chose.

Hi Kw and v6f are the same maker. You must be thinking of ZF :).
As others have mentioned Both have Flaws. The one thing I would look after is the crown - the current batch from Both makers have a slim incorrect crown - that also could pose a problem with waterproofing.
I have seen some that have been lucky to get one with the correct crown.
I would when ordering make it clear that I wanted the fat crown - but it might be difficult - 2 days ago I Got message back from Ryan that Both makers only have the slim crown.

yes thats right about the skinny crown.... I was told that there were no regular crowns to be had ... that they were all skinny crowns.... BUT ! some people have lucked out and just happen to get one with a thick/normal crown..... it just the luck of the draw.

I hate my skinny crown.... but I LOVE the bronzo....so... it is what it is for now.... and I have to enjoy my bronzo as it is.
who knows if they will ever get back to the proper sized crowns.
we can only hope.

Some will hate the skinny crown, some will learn to love it, some won't care. To each his own. :) One thing to think about, if you wait for the fat crown to come back, then another thing goes wrong (knock on wood but it can happen, take the crown for example), what will you do, wait for that to get fixed, and then what? For the most part, the PAM382 is a great rep, it's real bronze and it's made pretty well. Maybe the crown will be fixed later, and maybe all the other correct features will come with that, but for now, enjoy a Bronzo for a fraction of the gen price. :D

You are right [emoji1303]
I just hate my skinny crown and had a lot of trouble making it pass 5 bar - the crown kept leaking...untill I made this very very temporary fix [emoji16]

I will change the O ring on the crown with a fat one - then it will be ok for now...
And when the fat crown is available again ( it WILL happen) then it is a very easy fix...
But again overall I agree - it is a very decent looking rep - Both Kw and ZF

YES ! Mysterio ! you are indeed correct !
That is why I decided to buy the bronzo NOW rather than wait.... who knows what could happen to the rest of the watch after they get the crown right again. lol
for me.... my KW watch is perfect.... everything straight and even..... just the damned crown is the problem.
I didn't want to wait.... you never know what could go tits up while you are waiting for them to get the crown fixed. LOL
THEN.... i would be kicking myself for sure....

NOT that I won't be kicking myself anyway if they come out with the perfect crown and the REST of the watch is ALSO perfect ! LOL
OH YEAH ! that will piss me off too. LOL
BUT... then I'll HAVE to buy one. or i won't be able to live with myself.

but yes... you are definitely right about getting one now... and not waiting.... thats if you LOVE the bronzo as much as I do.... I just couldn't wait any longer.
i sure do hope they fix that horrible crown though.

Why the need to fight? Let's make PAM love not war. ;)

[emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji39]

The thought of getting a flawless rep would take away half the fun.
Taking it apart for waterproofing - maybe correct some minor details , sourcing better parts etc. is - for me at least - a big reason to why I am in to this game!
Best regards

Mine was only tested to 4bar ...I guess I'll have to forego my annual trip to the Marianas Trench this year ...

Looking at it in a purely mechanical way ..I would think that one could re-work the CG so that it sits closer to the case hence applying more pressure on the crown.

Pulling the ss crown screw out a bit more also or as suggested putting a fatter O-ring in the crown.

These Bronzo's are much too beautiful to pass by because of a skinny crown ... would you throw Angelina Jolie out of bed because her legs are too skinny ?
[MENTION=96936]evilpenguin[/MENTION] .. yours appears to be a fat crown.

If the skinny crown is a showstopper for you, the best bet is to keep your eyes pealed for a M2M deal. There are lots of great Bronzos out there, so they come up for sale somewhat often. That's how I got mine.
