uuuggghhh....hate to say that, but mixed fillings:
I know this is your third or fourth try to get a right KW382, all began with the chamfered CG corners, then came the bad painted indexes, and now this, definitely not "the time" to order a KW bronzo now. ...
- I like the homogeneous patina, dial-dw-bezel-markers alignment.
- I do NOT like the CG. I find excesive the gap between crown guard and case. I think that gap, also, makes the lever to rest far away from the case when closed, not nice effect too.
Sorry to add more confusion to you, instead a healthy recomendation.
Breath deep, relax, and take a wise decision, good luck!.
P.S.
A few months ago I ordered a RG PAM from KW that suffered from a similar issue, long visible SS crown tube on a RG radiomir case. Even with the crown fully srewed, that nasty silver tube was visible. After rejecting 2 watches (secind was worst) due to also pourly applied defined luminova (blury numerals). A better third one came into scene with a nice lumed/defined dial numerals, however it has same silver tube crown visilble. I then realized that was a batch factory fault. So I accepted it. Once at home I ran into a local watchsmith to see if he can "cut/short" that crown tube. Luckly, he ciuld, it cost me only one week waitting and a very little amout of money. Problem solved.
Did you not consider to opt for the ZF version?
V1 was noticeably worse than kw, but the latest v4 pics are not bad at all. It's true we are not 100% positive aboute the bronze composition, but if you really want this model now zf could be the best version atm.
I considered the ZF version 4. something about the watch that just doesn't look right to me. Ill do more research tonight. I just don't understand how this batch of 382 can be so bad with the crown guard being off and the cut out. Not to mention the crown.
I wonder if the person who is in charge of setting the computer to cut out the crown guard space was drunk. lol
Sorry to hear bro, I rejected 3 watches and accepted the 4th. No chamfered edges but at this point I don't care about that. Everything else was good, I will post some pictures when I get them.

Somehow some way some one screwed up on the crown and crown guard.

Yeah, first 3 I rejected was worse, crooked markers, too much ink filled in, bezel not lining up, date window not lining up, and of course the crown guard with terrible cutout and what not, at this point I can live with some minor things that I won't see when i am wearing it. I know this is a rep, I can live with little imperfections here and there.

the last watch i posted was damn near perfect... Look at the crown itself. You mean to tell e that his is water tight????????? whats your opinions on this? my TD is telling me that it depends in the lever and where it sits. Im still skeptical of this. Im going to try this last time on whatever i am sent QC wise. After that I am picking a new watch. Maybe a 508 Ceramic or a 569 0r a 389. Haven't decided yet. He did offer me that if i don't like this watch i could ship it back to his European "shop".... My TD has worked hard for me to try to get something I would like. I give him so much props for going above and beyond. Now i am kicking myself in the ass for not getting a 382 back in August last year.
Any suggestions on a replacement watch if this doesn't work out. I already have a stellar Pam571.
Yeah, I agree. That does stick out a lot. I got my eyes on 508 Ceramic right now as well. This Pam bug is killing me.
So this is the 5th watch. Can't get any better than this for now. I will mod the crown guard myself and post pics. I will also be asking for a newer crown when one comes out to replace this skinnier one. Let me know your thoughts everyone. If I don't like it TD said I can send it back. So I'm going to hopefully love or hate it.
