Tried to do the metal mod on my rep but after assembling, seems like the pe50 movement stopped working. Chronograph works but time doesn't work. Already has new battery. Anyone have insight of what might have happened? Thanks!

Hands may not be seated properly. Also, hands may be touching crystal. Did you do the frozen sub hand mod as well? If so you may have buggered one of the wheels.

I bet you just need to be sure your hands are seated properly. If they are touching the crystal use the little ring that came with the swatch as a spacer.

For me it's the stem that's too short and the crown catches the thread in the date set or time set position

Nope. Hands are set on well. Double checked in and out of the case. I tried to open the case after to see if there's any loose gears with the frozen sub sec hand mod directions but couldn't find anything.

Tried it in and out of the case and within the original rep case. Still won't run

That sucks. Worst case scenario is the movement is bad. Good news is a Sunon PE50 movement is about 6 dollars on AliExpress

movement out of case with stem in and fully pushed in. use a puffer to blow at the pinions

you can also remove the battery, leave for a min and put it back. Windows 95 true and tested method

Hi All- I built 1 and my son took it over. Now I am on to build another for myself. This second build will be with the blue dial and bezel vs. the traditional black. I have a feeling it won't be quite as sharp but it should be a good beater.

It is a really fun and simple DIY project for those considering it. I just built a Seagul ST3620K Big Pilot build and that was another layer of complexity beyond this. Up next frankening my own Datejust from Clean. Yikes!
