You can always ask him to send it dismantled. To be put back together. The jewelers here in Europe seem to attach a high premium to this watch. But I still think when Bond fever dies down the price will stabalise until the next Bond movie. It seemed prices went up by at least 25% during and after the Spectre release. I could be wrong but I do think it had an influence.

Yeah, I asked for that too but he said shipping costs will be pretty high because of insurance. I haven't been checking prices before Spectre so I wasn't aware of them being so expensive lately. If that's true, it would be great. For $1200 or so I would definitely get one.

Good comparison with the 2531.80. It's such a classic piece! Of course when it comes to Omega, you can't beat a gen. With the applied markers and Omega logo along with the red Seamaster on the dial, your rep is indeed based on the gen of the Omega SMP 2220.80 Here is my gen 2220.80 that your rep is based on... I love it. It's my daily wearer but I've been giving it a rest now occasionally since getting the Spectre 300 rep. Because of the coaxial movement, the case is slightly thicker on the 2220.80 than on the 2531.80.. But its bearable and doesn't really stick out and not as thick as how the cases are on the current 8500 coaxials...
