I'll be ordering mine next week. Still undecided as to which dealer to get it from...

I ordered from Sead... however not long after placing the order PureTime listed the watch, Puretime has a holiday savings code: PTXMAS15 that represents a 8% discount, or if paying with WU a whopping 18%... impossible to beat either way and a stellar reputation.

Oh crap, I forgot about puretime's Christmas discount.

Did you cancel your order from sead then?

No, I had placed the order and while it could have saved a few dollars, I have bugged Sead many times over the past year searching different models... it was his turn and he also has a stellar reputation.
Sead (Supermirrors) has a slightly lower Ship cost too*, so, I have no regrets; just making sure others are aware of the current offer available.

* $30. for DHL vs. $35 for EMS @puretime

Thanks.. I will probably just get from Sead. Can you advise on the Miyota 8215 movement?

No, no personal experience with this movt. I have read both the good and bad, some complain of the stutter others see nothing of the sort... for a 21 jewel movement is is said to be quite a capable performer.
I have also read that for the foreseeable future we will continue to see both the AT and 300 produced with the Miyota, primarily because KW/v6F et al have produced a large number of the decorated components. Until those supplys are exhausted I don't think we will see other movements being used or offered.

The miyota is a reliable movement. Japanese made so should be better than Asian made clones at least.
The "stutter" people complain about is because its a 21600bph movement.

I have the Miyota 8215 movement in my Aqua Terra (purchased from Sead). Key points:

Timekeeping is +3 seconds a day;
I see no stutter at all under any [shaken or stirred] circumstances;
Winding the movement or changing the time feels 'rough', as if it needs oil;
Biggest issue - noise. If I'm listening, with normal wrist movement, I occasionally hear the winding mechanism [rotor?] (about 10% of wearing time). If I'm driving with my watch hand on the steering wheel, I can hear the winding mechanism almost continuously as I drive on city streets. It was weird originally, but now I'm accustomed to it. It surprises me that such a loud movement could be so standard in name brand watches;
No reliability issues so far (2 months)

I would easily trade the noise for a bit of stutter.

I have another Aqua Terra on order and will compare volume levels.

Thanks.. I will probably just get from Sead. Can you advise on the Miyota 8215 movement?

I have a BP Bond SMP 50th anniversary that has the Miyota 8215. No apparent rotor noise, but very obvious stutter. I originally ordered watch with the 2824. I knew within 1st minute that it was not the 28k movement.

How times have changed. If I remember correctly, when I last bought a rep in 2010, the movements that were mostly available for choice was either the ETA Swiss or Asian clones.. But now, all the dealers are selling them with the Miyota 8215... I guess I don't have a choice if I really do want the Spectre SM300 rep. Miyota 8215 it is then.

My rep 42mm Planet Ocean that I got back in 2010 with the Asian 21J is still doing good, very reliable. 5 yrs now. Wearing it today after just putting it on the gen OEM Omega Nato. It looks really good on the Planet Ocean. Here's hoping the Miyota 8215 movement can last just as long...

There was some recent discussion as to whether or not the 8215 used by rep facs is a rep itself. Rumor is Citizen has tight controls on these but I guess the facs could find a way to source them. I've owned two of the seamaster 300 mco in the past, the 2nd seemed a little better constructed but both were noisy and second hand would stop with a hard wrist shake. Still for the money the KW rep is pretty nice!

Is that a 2tone bracelet with PCLs?

Yup looks like it, the pics on the TDs site looks like they haven't updated the bracelet either.
Maybe I'll wait for the brushed bracelet and updated nato before ordering.

This does not sound very appealing... Hmm...

Why did the factories stop doing these reps with the ETA Swiss clones in the first place???

The 8215 and 9015 are a lot more easier to modify for decorative movement plates that have become a lot more popular recently
