What about the issue of the micro rotor not winding efficiently ? It takes wild hand movements to keep this thing charged ! (Atleast for the PPF version)

I’m pretty sure it’s still not made of gold, so the «problem» is probably still there.

I mean lead or tungsten would have solved it. But this model is plagued by this issue.

Don't know why they don't make gold plated tungsten rotors. Would fix the problem instantly and it's not like tungsten is expensive.

Lead wouldn't. Lead isn't particularly dense, it's only slightly more dense than silver for example.

Here's a gen 5712 just to give us a basis of comparison.

This index alignment at 12 would send some of you to the hospital. Just goes to show that it doesn’t always pay to be so OCD in the QC process.

Oh god that 12 is terrible. Doesn't matter if it's a gen watch or not. The index alignment there is objectively terrible and reflects badly on Patek as a company.

I think Dealer Clocks (TD) has the OME 5712 on its website now. If it is this model we're discussing in this thread, the only think I'm not clear about is why it has the old clasp.

Well. There is a famous YouTube video where it was gen vs. rep. The gen had 1 marker installed upside down.
I really don’t believe Patek has QC stuff down like Rolex and Omega.

Yep, I know. I actually prefer this version as the Patek Philippe engraving in the V2 is bigger than gen (I think the V1 has the more accurate engraving) and I personally prefer that over the more accurate to gen jewel and D shaped hole.

I wasn't aware there was a difference in the second hand between V1 and V2, what's that about?

$1088??? And the pics are of the V1 OME version. Notice that Puretime doesn't even disclose that this is OME, but the pics with the overside PR pinion cap give that away.

Puretime was already expensive, but between the inflated AP 26240 preorder price, this OME, and some of the shenanigans with RM pricing (not to mention my personal experience with super slow wait times for QC and shipping), Puretime is really gouging people looking for a "trusted" dealer.
