As far as i can tell from the pictures, pretty good. Not the exactly like gen

there is not really an option rn that is exactly like gen. The Spongebob one is pretty much the same color wise but as far as i know it doesn’t have a crystal on it. Gen has a very thin glass/crystal on the moonphase.

The gen moonphase is painted on a very thin piece of glass and then the black background color is put onto it. The moonphase mods you can buy are just stickers, no glass. When you shine light on the gen, it becomes really reflective and it’s completely flat. On the ome for example you can see the elevated print of the stars because its a sticker.

I always thought it would have some kind of texture as some other brands are big on moon phases with some texture / third dimension to it.

Yea, in stores with very white and bright like they look like mirrors. There was one rep moonphase with glass although with pretty bad colors but i have never seen it again anywhere.

@poseiden - thanks, that's really helpful.

Overall this version is not bad compared to offloading $3-4k to get every detail just right (which I have done BTW, I'm not against it).

Too bad it has new style indexes and no 5 and 7 dots.

That should be fixable with SW dial I think. The colour is slightly different as well between the two (SW looks more full and vibrant) and I personally think the upgrade is worth it.

I have a sw dial and the sunburst isnt the best

Isn't a gen dial like 8-10k? If you can find one that is.

No, sw is 99% same color and sunburst wise, only thing you could change are indices, which you can mod if you really wanted to. I think they are fine

Gen hand set and moonphase would make a bigger difference imo, all the hands we have are too thick and the moonphases we have are just stickers

What about the issue of the micro rotor not winding efficiently ? It takes wild hand movements to keep this thing charged ! (Atleast for the PPF version)
