Hi all

Some fantastic info on Tourbillons in this thread , its had me mesmerized for ages trolling through it all.
You guys are so knowledgeable it can only help a relative newb like me gain more info on what I have and what I'm going to purchase next.
I have a cheap open heart IWC Portuguese I bought abroad a couple of years ago which I still like regardless of its cheapness and also have an IWC I acquired recently whilst on holiday , I'll post some pics later when I get my camera out and maybe you could help recognising the movement etc.
I haven't seen another IWC rep quite like it on here or at the TD's so maybe you can shed some light for me.
Thanks in advance

Regards

Lee

Weird IWC Rep

Hello again

Ok prepare yourselves for this , because if your an IWC fan this might make your toes curl lol.

I acquired this somewhat oddly , we were in Turkey a few weeks ago and my lovely lady has a penchant for gems and jewellery , we were in a lovely jewellery store and she was bartering (as she does) for some Zultanite stones and also a ring and necklace and earrings for her friend.

I was perusing the rest of the shop when I realised he had some reps on the opposite side to all the gen watches when I noticed this very odd IWC , I walked back to her (with it in my hand) as she was closing up discussions of cost for the stones when she said "I'll pay that amount if you throw that watch in".

So , hence , how I "acquired" it. lol

Anyway , here it is without further ado , a somewhat odd IWC Tourbillon ??

Is it even a Tourbillon ? , the movement of it is really sweet to watch so i'll keep it a while I guess.

Can anyone tell me anything about this or the movement that's in it ?

I certainly haven't seen it as a rep before nor seen anything remotely like it as gen.

Thanks in advance

(Doubt i'll gain entrance to the Tourbillon club for this , lol)

No, that's not a tourbillon movement. What does the pusher do? Advance the day/date?

Ok thx for the reply Hyjynx , yeah the pusher advances day and the sunken pusher advances the date.

Any ideas on what the movement is ?

In the video it appears that the cage is actually revolving, so that would mean it's a tourbillon, and not an open heart, correct?

If that's true, experts chime in here, you got yourself a bargain.

I'm interested in this watch, I was looking at the white dial, blue numbers, gold case version on Josua's site.

Accidents and Emergency
My eyes hay have been fooling me but it seems that the "tourbillion cage" and balance wheel is not connected. A tourbillion means that a the balance wheel is mounted in a tourbillion cage and should be spinning as the balance wheel is moving. In this watch, the balance wheel is moving but is not spinning along with the cage. Seems like a faux tourby to me.

Yeah, it's a faux tourbillon. It's really pretty cool and will fool anyone unfamiliar with the real thing. The same movement powers this Cartier "homage."

I can't stop thinking about tourbillions! Either a Hublot Tourbillion or a VC Malte soon....but which...

You can't go wrong with either. Really depends on your own taste. You'll probably end up getting both at some point, anyway. [emoji1] I have the skeleton Hublot. It's to die for. [emoji7]
