Picts please ... how it look now ? ...

15 seconds with melamine foam (with water) and then wiped clean with a regular cloth:

Now it is one step closer to the GEN:

- no blue tint
- sapphire bezel and sapphire crystal are having the same reflection properties, which is on par with GEN, since both sapphires on GEN are AR treated :)

Now it is not so finger prints prone as before :)

I have a Mr. Clean magic eraser at home, will do this as soon as I get home. The factory AR coating is very easily scratched. Mine was scratched within a few days of wearing it. Top coat of AR will be off later tonight. Thanks for sharing!!!

For those who plan to try tonight, please take pictures before and after, with more or less the same lighting, so that we can really see how it works!

Sounds great, anyway... Seems like I'll have to order a Mr Clean sponge at the same time I'll order my ploprof (some times in the future... )

you can get the Mr. clean sponge in any Vons or CVS stores for $5US.
just did mine, but dont think i was able to remove all of it. I was rubbing for
good minute. If i look under certain angle and reflection u can see some greenish/golden residue. will try some more.

Strange, since Mr.Clean sponge sounds too expensive for just melamine foam. Of course, I cannot compare products but here, in Poland, regular melamine foam sponge costs around $2 for pack of two. For my AR removal I used the cheapest available, of Chinese origin, where you get almost two sponges for $1.

On the other hand, the AR on my PloProf was of that "very soft" kind, really easy to get scratched so easy to get removed, too.

Tuco, try to wipe the crystal with microfiber to remove all residues. Colors etc. - sounds like the remaining AR on internal side is working.

I get these sponges at the local Dollar Store, $1 for a 3-pack. They really do clean everything.

Good to know that :)

So, the proper routine of AR removal with melamine sponge would be:

- dip sponge in water
- rub AR vigorously
- clean with water
- wipe residues / polish with microfiber cloth
- repeat if necessary

done.

Great because my next question was going to be do we do this wet or dry.
I didn't get home till super late so I didn't have time to try this with my Plo, but will attempt to do it after work today.

Yup gotta do it wet, the sponges don't work when they're dry

I havent removed the AR on my Ploprof yet,
But I was wondering....I might do this on my Hublot, as I have the same problems.
I dont care about if its close to gen and all that stuff, just want to be happy with it myself.
So is that a bad idea? Are they just a bit scratchy due to the inferior AR coating? Would a modder's AR job be a lot better?

No AR is better than bad AR, IMO. I'd do it! Modder AR would be light years ahead of anything factory, especially FineDD's AR.

Cheers Rob.
I think I will give it a go then, seems stupid having fine scratches on such an apparently expensive watch.

Just removed the AR with a magic sponge, and here are the results.
I tried to get the before and after shot in the exact same lighting conditions.
It is right under a spot light, so looks a lot worse than it really did in normal day to day use.
But as you can see, it is a lot better....and in normal light it is now perfect :)
Cheers for the tips!

Glad my tip helped :) On my PloProf now it is only AR on internal side visible... and small scratches from factory - too :) But I can live with that :)
