There was a 116519 on the sales thread yesterday - but the original TD purchase price was stated incorrectly and it all looked very wrong to me. I'm also seeking a 116519, but be patient, there will be equal or better Daytonas around in the next few months. Some people are going to regret jumping in with these silly prices for NOOBs right now.
I'll believe it when I see it,been hearing reps will be back every month since the raids

There are noob daytonas availiable right now and most of the dealers can get them but they are going at premium prices 850usd+++

It would be interesting to know if they are old unsold specimens or if a new production with small numbers has been started. Considering what happened, $ 850/1000 seems like a reasonable price

I've been in this game for over 10 years, so I can confidently say that there will be newer and better Daytonas with the A4130 movement coming along soon. Patience is the key here.

amen.

More likely to be pieces that are cobbled together from any last remaining parts found lying about - or watches that had been rejected previously for QC issues. If anybody is brave enough to pay these inflated prices then QC inspection is going to be more important than ever.

I wonder if we are now going to see a stream of overpriced NOOB Daytonas on the sales forums with the "evidence" that the TD list price is now $998??

These are certainly inflated prices compared to those we were used to but it is an elementary law of the market and when the demand exceeds the supply, the prices rise. However, what you currently pay extra is roughly equivalent to what many of us spend on a light mod. I think it's a "sacrifice" that many of us will gladly pay...

.....and many of the more experienced members will just wait for the market to find its' natural level again.

As silly as it is, what goes on with prices for desirable units in the rep world mirrors that of the market for gen watches. There will always be people who are willing to pay for things they truly want, as long as the pocket allows it. Maybe they won't stop at one if it's deep enough. I am thinking about what the new 4130 integrators would charge for new Daytonas in the future though, these contenders would likely be taking notice of what is going on now and would they be tempted to sell their units at this level when they're ready?

I’m in the market for a 116519 myself and noticed the updated prices on Trusty’s website. I did inquire about it, and this was his response:

The news is that some factory may make it again but no confirmation yet

Overall seems like good news, I figured it’s just a matter of time as others mentioned. There’s too much demand and money to be made with the 4130 clone for these not to eventually make it back on the market.

Be cautious with even TDs of NOOB Daytonas. One told me $998 with no guarantee. Ridiculous!

To be absolutely sure, we'd need to see a photo of the movement. You could also ask for a vid from the TD where they demonstrate which direction the time adjustment works, and that the chrono is working.

Also, if chrono is working and thickness is ~12.5mm, then I think it has to be a 4130 movement inside. You could ask for a caliper pic showing exact thickness.

So personally I think that the 998 price is ridiculous, but those who pay that price, are they going to be allowed to sell it for that price on M2M? What do you guys think?

Well, if they paid £3000 for it (plus have proof) and sell it for £3000 on m2m, then they are not profiteering and hence not breaking any forum rules. The market will drive the value.

But yes, I agree, 998 is taking the piss.
