Ryan asked me to return it, but I'm hesitant to do so. If it gets lost going back there, I'm out $700. If I sink another hundred or two for a movement swap and end up with a solid working piece, I feel I'll be better off. Especially since visually, the Noob Pepsi is a stunner.............

contact the TD and insisted on a a partial refund to keep it or send it back. I’d probably rock sending it back for 700

Noob are charging way too much for that watch. But if people will buy them, No need for them to reduce the price.

Here you go buddy..I ask my TD to make sure the dates were centered..to look for that as the number one thing for me.

Wow so your date is center right out of the box, would there be a fix it is not? mine is not centered which annoys me, it is left justified.

UPDATE: I received my Noob Pepsi from Ryan and posted that right out of the box, the hour hand would get stuck @ 10pm every day. Sent it to a US watchmaker and he thought he had it fixed. Two days on my wrist and the same problem started happening again.

Sent it back to be looked at again. He called me last night and said the movement is impossibly bad and he's unable to get in is working order. I asked him to try and find an ICHS movement that he could retrofit into my piece. What a disappointment for $700! Ugh..........

Before giving up you should pm @hanksi.

I almost gave up on a watch after another watch repair guy said it was an impossible fix. This dude fixed it in a few hours and turnaround is super quick. It’s worth a shot.

If you mean you had to cycle through a few days to get to the correct date then you are doing nothing wrong, that is the only way to safely set the date with this movement.

Is it possible to move only the datewheel?

That's correct. Neither the Noob nor the Gen has a quick set date feature. If you have a Noob and the watch says it's the 23rd but it's only the 22nd - you have to advance the watch forward 30 days (either with the minute hand or the quick set hour hand). With the noob you cannot wind it back one day - however with the gen you can. So worst case with the noob you have to move forward 30.5 days and with the gen you have to move either forwards or backwards 15.5 days. The hour hand quick set makes the process easier - but it is still means worst case spinning the hour hand 71 rotations forward on the noob or 31 rotations forward or back on the gen. HOWEVER - WARNING WARNING WARNING: The noob quick set hour IS THE WEAK LINK in the movement. The quick set spring that makes the hour hand jump is extremely fragile AND WILL BREAK - leaving you with a watch with non functioning hour hand. I have even heard that it is NOT bullet proof on the Gen. The Rolex service guy will probably tell you it's not a good idea to play with it too much - and to set the date using the minute hand going through full 24 full rotations to change it one day. (Worst case that's 372 rotations either forward or back if you're 15 days off).

Amazing that in a $400 rep with the ETA movement quickset in position 2 is MUCH easier to use than a Genuine Rolex GMT Master 2 - (clockwise advances the date ccw retards the GMT hand). Hope this explanation clarifies.

This movement-like the gen- does not have a quick set date. You need to move the hour hand to set the date. As the mechanism is so weak people like KJ2020 recommend to set the date in "position three," i.e. move all hands until you reach the correct date, set all hands to "GMT" or whatever timezone you want, then set the hour hand to local time.
And this is why personally I choose to stay away from this movement

I wouldn’t do that. Just move the hour hand...you only need to do this less than a handful of times per year. This movement is as finicky as it gets. Enjoy it

What do you think about jubilee?? Is it comfortable while still solid like oyster?

truthfully..both wear the same. i can't tell the difference. now, wait until it gets warmer and we will see as i do find oysters do retain moisture and my wrist do balloon but..you can extend the band anyways.

Uhh ok..fine.. I am a bit worried about durability and strengthness of the links... but that's ok.. we have to just wait spring/summer and we'll see.
