Hey guys, just got my QC pics and they look pretty good to me. On pic 4, I see something above the 3. Is that just a speck of dust or can it be inside the movement? Would appreciate any advice if I'm missing anything else.

bumsrus, good to go. cron7, must be lint. I had to squint to even see it.

I just received my Noob 372 but one of the lug screws holding the strap freely moves. What should I do? Blue Loc-tight? Bigger screw? I don't want to go through hassle of sending back and waiting.
Thanks!

Mate just want to confirm that you used a screwdriver to turn the lugs screws all the way.

If this doesn't work quite often you will find that there is something jammed inside the threading that is preventing the lug from fitting in fully. Unscrew everything and then use a torch and compressed air/needle to get that junk out of the opening. Then try to screw it back in again

By torch, you mean one with flame or one with light? :D If you really need to use loctite, the blue weak threadlocker is advisable.

True, it is tiny and personally I don't think it will be noticeable at all when it comes. But it's my first rep so maybe being a bit paranoid.

If it's lint, it should be easy to blow/wipe off. In fact, by the time the watch arrives, the lint would no longer be there. :)

Well, the screw is able to follow all the way so it doesn't seem as there's something jammed or stopping it. It seems as maybe not a big enough screw or maybe not threaded all the way through.

How does this recent Noob 372 compare to the gen.? I just bought mine and curious if there are any Side by side pics of this recent noob with a gen? I know the movement isn't correct.

I did...this is why i wrote this. There are no side by side pics of the current noob with a gen.

I disagree. It's very well compared, including macros of the dial of Noob vs. Hmaker vs. Puretime vs. GEN.
The movement is obviously wrong since it uses a decorated Asian 6497-1 instead of a P.3000 clone. But besides this, it's the best version available.
What are you missing?

what is Nightwatch ?

The correct question is who is Nightwatch. He is a well-known modder for Vintage PAM builds over on HomageForums (I was going to say HF, but I was afraid you'd ask the question, what is HF? ).

Does anyone know what size the strap holes should be for this watch? Can't seem to find any info on this.

You mean the strap width? It's 26mm as any other 47mm PAM.

The holes on the strap are usually around 4mm for standard Panerai buckles.

I snapped some quick shots of the latest Noob and latest R-series gen. Unfortunately the lighting was subpar; I'll have to do this again at a later time... I hope this helps.

The Noob is on a 26/26 DiStefano David (left), while the gen is on a 26/22 OEM Assolutamente. Both are have a plexi crystal.

The Noob has a power reserve of 58 hours and 40 minutes; the gen has 81 hours and 25 minutes.

I figured I'd throw the KW 605 in the mix for the last pic... For a KW/gen 605, take a look at Evora's excellent comparison.

Dsc_0629_zpskpjkzpgl.jpg

All in all, it's an excellent rep on the wrist (I won't discuss the movement difference but the A6497 is a rock-solid movement). As I stated before there is a slight difference in the "LUMINOR PANERAI" color on the dial, but this could be due to differences between series (the Noob is based on an N-series vs my R-series gen).

Awesome pics. Thank you Uberschall. :D The power reserve is exactly as expected, since the Noob is just using an A6497 and is rated at 56 hours while the gen is using a 3-day PR movement it should at least be 72 hours. :)

Thank you for the kind words, @mysterio. I will do my best to take better pictures in broad daylight when I can.
