I have a rep subm with an ETA movement which I was told back then (2004?) that it was superior to any chinese movements. What's in this watch?

Like Schrödingers cat it currently is a Swiss Eta. Until you open the box... Honestly, how should we know. There's thousands of variations from Quartz over Chinese to Swiss movements. Pop the back, post photos, then you'll get feedback.

Yep mine did this and my 1675 does this as well, there is an easy fix.

Advance the time by a full 24 hours, then set the gmt hand to where you want it.

Then set the time and this should reset the gmt hand.

Cheers buddy - have just tried it. Not being much of a globetrotter I'm not desperate to use the GMT functionality, but a static hand is something of a 'tell' in anyone's book ;-)

I've read the entire thread twice, and also did a couple of searches throughout the entire forum, but couldn't find what I was looking for.
Can anyone tell me the difference between the $148 Explorer II (for example on Tony's site) and this one, other than the fact that this is Noob Factory and the other is not and that the Noob is a 2836 movement, rather than the $148 one which is A2813? I'm trying to see the justification of the difference of $100 between the two, and I can't really see it by comparing the pictures on the site.

Other than the much more expensive movement, are there a lot of other glaring cosmetic differences?
My untrained eyes don't see them.

No idea, something to do with the GMT on the A2836 movements I think, found a thread about it on one of the other forums a while back when it happened to my 1675.

Weird. Out of interest what time does your date change Rols? Mine is 12.00.50 and a chap earlier in the thread claimed 12.00.07 so I'm guessing they had a good hand setting day at the Noob factory that day!

Just checked it again, and it changed at 12.00.39 this time LOL, I swear it was at 11.59.59 yesterday

Still better than mine. Just ;-) This is the best hand set/date change I've ever seen on a rep, and better than most gens (not that it's a big deal of course).

I managed to get my v2 SD to change at 12.02.45 when I fitted the Clark hands myself which I was pretty chuffed about considering it was my first hands swap. +/- 60s from midnight is quite frankly amazing

are you talking about the asian or about the asian eta movement? I saw there was a difference in price.

Asian clone 2836 ETA with GMT module. I can't see the point of the cheaper 2813 version - noisy rotor + choppy sweep = annoying + big tell (especially since they have sorted out the reliability issues with the ICHS)
