Noob Daytona vs ARF Daytona

I've read in another noob Daytona thread that it would fit if the (ARF) dial feet are clipped. But I'll let someone who's actually performed the swap confirm it...

Can somebody confirm or elaborate this? Does it make sense to put an Arf dial in a noob? Arf or BP dial? What about the bracelets also worth a swap?

I am going to throw a spanner in the works and say that although there is a firm following of the ARF Daytona 4130 and those of the Noob Daytona 4130 I believe that Noob will win hands down on working chrono's. Other issues are just so minor that the average guy will never know and only the purists here battle it out for supremacy.

Problem is the average guy these days knows the daytona. Watch awareness is so big now. Everyone wants a nice watch. Where I live in anyway.

As has been said before if you want gen like out the box go with the ARF, If movement really matters go with the Noob and for franken there is only one option Noob but then your adding a couple of thousand pounds to the price. Both great watches for what they are but the tells on the Noob are not minor at all. The subdials are way way off and because of this it looks weird.

Of course the dial will fit, I'm not sure why this question is always asked (not by you, the original poster)

If the size is the same and the hand positions are the same, the dial will fit. Yes you will have to clip the feet, but this is basic stuff for a modder.

It does make sense to put an ARF or BP dial on the noob especially on the steel bezel version where the noob is really bad. The difference isn't so much on the ceramic, even with the thick Subdials, the new ARF v2 dial also has issues (too large spacing between the bottom of the numbers and the inside edge within the Subdials).

It makes sense to swap the bezel insert on the noob to ARF if you can get one.

With an ARF dial and bezel the noob would be close enough for me.

Price of gen daytona parts has gone mad, priced out of a Franken unfortunately.

now the real question then would be does the arf bezel fit on the noob daytona without modification or does this need shaving?

From where would you get the ARF dial? Are they sold separately from TDs?

Here's my arf ... Wouldn't mind getting the noob and comparing them ...there appears to be a extensive waiting period

Here is my Noob Franken again, the price is not a couple of 1000 gbp. I paid 800 euro for a new chromalight dial and 500 USD for the watch, so a total of 1250 euro. There are also lots of aftermarket ceramic bezels around for less then 100 USD, if you do not like the noob. I may get a gen hand set for 250 euro but still happy with this. This watch has 80 h powerreserve and gains 2 sec a week.

I know the dial is not 100% correct for the 116500 but many gen owners converted their 116520 to a ceramic version.

Hi guru,

One of your previous posts influenced me in the choice of the 116520 Noob 4130 white (Might be the V1 but she runs strong) and now I'm waiting for the black V2. Could be there at the beginning of the next week.:drinks_cheers:

My ARf runs for 48 hours. That's properly winding it.

Try that and see if it's better.

Or else change the rotor as the stock is light and nkisy, whilst you are at it remove that silly deco plate too.

Check out the latest addition at Puretime. 116520 “V2” with period-correct 1-tick white dial. Now I wont need to buy a gen dial and bezel for my Noob SA 4130!

I don’t really understand you, If you want it period correct, you need to do a lume job. 1-tick dials have superluminova lume and not chromalight. I rather take the 2-tick with chromalight. But anyhow, who will know.
