Noob Daytona 4130 arrived

My Noob also has the better Crystal profile. Mine is at least second batch or later. This confirms my suspicion that incremental changes were being made through production and are probably continuing. Rather invalidates much of the negativity regarding this watch published upon it's release, based on rushed out first issues.

So they are getting closer and closer to gen Rolex...even in the contexts of availability and the using up of old parts! ????

Well still I am not sold, I don't even have one as we speak... by the way I will use the chrono function to measure my pasta boiling time

Correctly boiled pasta is very important. Hate over cooked pasta !

That's odd...my Noob's crystal looked nothing like that before I replaced it with the gen. My crystal had a much shallower slope, and it was showing some gasket ever so lightly.

I purchased mine from one of the first batches from Ryan, when did you get yours? Maybe something is in the changing or just a fluke?

mui.richard it is the stock crystal. Just shaved the gasket to 2.3 mm and the tachy to 2.5 mm. So you do not see the gasket anymore. Watch size is now 12.4 mm and crystal gasket not visible. Same profile as gen.

For what it's worth the gen crystal and gasket for my ceramic Noob fit perfectly without modification, so maybe there's a difference in the thickness of the ceramic and SS bezel from Noob to start with?

mui.richard I agree, nothing can beat gen parts. But gen crystal is min 300 euro and modding the bezel and gasket is much less and you reach the same. Both, ss bezel and ceramic bezel are 2.7 mm compare to gen which is 2.5. So for 50 euro modding cost you get the same profile as a gen crystal, and not all people are lucky to get a gen crystal.

This is the longest post to get through. Wow. Great deal of info though. Thanks to all of you for contributing.

I finally pulled the trigger in July and bought a 116506, basically because I've had trouble reading the time on black or white dials, which I've had. The TD wouldn't ship to Mexico due to super strict customs, so I sent it to a friend in LA, who is coming this weekend -I hope. It's been 6 weeks I've been waiting for it. I hope my friend hasn't been wearing it. Oh well, we'll see when it gets here.

Yes, I will post pictures when I get it.
