Noob ceramic insert with platinum plating

Spongbob has been sort of in and out. His work has been sort of in and out also. I think he is having issues that he has to take care of, but also trying to do this work. But that is how sub par work slips threw, like unfinished bezels being shipped and whatnot. I wish his work was consistently good, but it is a crapshoot if you get good or bad.
Unfortunately for this kind of money it should always be top notch work that is sent out- unfortunately that is not the case.

I think spongebob is working on a v2 version. Probably by tht time all the problems will be solved. I think it would be in a week or two till released.

The impression I get is that 99% of people have been happy with Steve's service including me, other than fastpaced having an issue, who else has had an issue?

My insert turned up with platinum on the back and sides as others did, it's now been installed and you can't see it as Miseikped mentioned already. I really can't see the issue. It looks fantastic

People were squirting over this mod when he first introduced it, some members were ready to pay $300 for it without Steve even mentioning money, now it's too expensive based on what? I don't understand the negativity.

He´s responding all (my) PM´s, seems quite busy and said he has improved his process. As far as i can see there is only ONE bezel known that had an issue. This can happen with every brand you buy something from, i think its kind of unfair to devaluate his work ("crapshoot if you get good or bad") just because one person claims he has an issue - for what reasons ever this might be.

I was not the only one that had an issue. Others have had to send back the bezel to be fixed. Also I didn't get the correct thing twice in a row. Was sent the wrong bezel the first time and it had to go back.
This mod is what it is worth to whoever is buying it. $300 for this mod is crazy. $150 and I think it would sell like hot cakes. I have always said steve is a good guy and will take care of it if there are any problems. But your build will sit on the self in the meantime if you do have an issue.

My first insert wasn't quite right - it looked a little patchy. Steve sent me a new one which arrived today - it looks great, much better than the first.

Now I have a problem reinstalling the bezel. Having watched that video, I don't seem to have the "packing" he refers to...

Also, when I removed the bezel , the silver ring surrounding the crystal came off and I'm not sure I can get it back on properly.

When I try to push the bezel back in it is clearly sitting very high and isn't clicking like it did. It also takes very little effort to prise it off.

Am I missing something obvious or will I need help from a Watchsmith?

Any help greatly appreciated - I've been waiting months to get the finished article on my wrist and it's driving me mad!!

Dumb question, but does Steve plate your bezel or does he just send you a coated bezel for the price? And what is said price?

I was thinking of getting a Hulk and I'd rather not do two way shipping if Steve is anyway supplying the whole insert.

Yes he does. Add another $85 on for one.
Seems like a couple if us got the blotchy mod bezels. More people got good ones than bad bad ones, but the fact remains that Steve did send out sub par ones for whatever reason. I hope in the future he Only sends out good ones, but only time will tell. Until than, roll the dice at will.

Congrats....That looks awesome and has answers all my previous question about the peachy look in certain lights... Did I read correct??? The next batch won't be until August?
This is the best mod that has EVER happened to the ceramic subs period
