I used a hairdryer to heat up the insert a bit. Then using my nail i slightly pulled the insert from the pearl. I did this gently, without using much force. You will see that the insert will gradually come loose. Be patient until there is a gap big enaugh between the insert and the bezel to put a wooden toothpick in.How did you remove it from the bezel?

Yes it can be pushed back. Done it on mine many times. Just be sre to apply even force around the whole bezel. Can the entire bezel assembly be pushed back on by hand?
There are some videos on youtube that seem to suggest it can, but I believe smoke mentioned a press is needed to replace the entire bezel.....
You can push it back by hand. It will make a big pop and you will shit your pants thinking you cracked the glass. Can the entire bezel assembly be pushed back on by hand?

Then go around the insert with the toothpick until the whole insert comes loose.
Be carefull, the insert ia very brittle and can easily crack.
Hope this helps.

The latest batch of noob have a black hole effect. Not as obvious as gen but it is there for sure.Oké, I have a question...
I spend lots of money modding some TC'S, a sea dweller and some other watches. Now I would also like to have a ceramic submariner as well.
This mod look really great and saves me money not having to buy a gen insert.
So I thought I would be happy with a Spongebob insert, gen crystal and gen DWO... Maybe a gen ETA
But then I just thought of buying a 114060 no date sub. Do I accomplish the same level of "gen look" to my watch with only this mod?
Because I don't need the DWO, cause there is obviously no date, and the crystal does not need a black hole affect since there is no cyclops.
Am I missing something?
Thanks

Pictures of the black hole effect pleaseThe latest batch of noob have a black hole effect. Not as obvious as gen but it is there for sure.
I made some macro shots of the v7 datewheel. The text is glossy and raised. I don't think a gen would make much of a difference.
You can just mod the insert of a nodate and be done. Cheers
