Noob 243 is Back!!!

I know the 243 has a helium valve on it. Since rep helium valves aren't truly functional, how waterproof is this watch? I plan to immediately send this watch off to be professionally pressure tested and all that but with the presence of the pseudo helium valve, can that still actually be done?

It can be done.
I had my 243's Hev epoxy modded at a local watchsmith, then pressure tested to 100m.
Swam and dive to 5-6 m. all summer with no problem at all.

They know everyone wants it, they are the only ones who have it (the wholesaler), so they are squeezing and extra $60 out of each one. If they sell just 1000 pcs...well do the math......

You can't sell 1000 pcs of something the factory only made 500 of. :lol: Noob competed with H-Factory on the PAM243 so severely on the pricing that they stopped making it after the first run. So even when a wholesaler bought 500 pcs for the second run, Noob did not lower the pricing on the new units. Sucks for those who got on the 243 boat just now but those are the breaks. Sometimes you get really lucky on being an early adopter.

As to whether you'd want to pay the 60$ increase will depend on how much you want it. Maybe you'll look elsewhere for the PAM sub fix (the new PAM389 is an example) or maybe you'll just bite the 60$ bullet and get this watch.

I believe the H-fac version is still available as well at the lower pricing. I just approved the QC pics for my Noob 243 as I feel that at the elevated pricetag the watch is still worth it.

I fall into this category. I was willing to pay the extra to get the noob version as I was impressed with the "teaser" photos. I realize not everyone is, so I suspect some m2m sales will show up that will help alleviate a little of the higher cost of this version.

It's the new style rubber strap. It's comfortable although it's larger than my wrist so I had to swap that out with a leather/canvas strap.

Never tried the new style rubber strap, but glad to hear it is comfortable. I have been leaning towards rubber straps recently
