I own a gen PAM 349. The reps I've seen are unreal. There is no way I would be able to tell.I didnt realise Replica was a thing, I always thought ultra cheap watches when on stopover in asia were called "fakes".
I have a few genuine watches, not huge value but sentimental, ie birthday Omega. I only where watches at work or like jewelry as I dont wear necklaces or rings etc.
I really like Panerai Luminors. But will never have the money for one. How good are replicas? am I going to have the guy at work who wants to just be the bully, know quite easily if its a replica?
I assume there are some sites with better replicas than others? Is it legal to import a "replica"?
Cheers all.
I get what you’re saying, but the issue with that is that some multimillionaires wear sweats and hoodies out. Hard to tell what someone makes or what they can afford.Ah man you guys are seriously good. I usually just clock the person and the vibe they're giving off, asking myself as to whether they can actually afford the 10k watch they've got on their wrist. Then again, how do you know these days? You can't judge what people do for money etc.

Spot on.Discussion has gone a bit sideways. OP said he would love a Panerai Luminor but would never be able to buy a gen. Well, good news because an old school Pam bought M2M and possibly frankened is pretty much indistinguishable from a gen to anyone who is not a legit Paneristi and that includes secondhand dealers who handle all sort of watches everyday. I kid you not, I have sold 4 gen Pams in the last couple of months and still have quite a few top quality (mostly superfranken) Pam reps. I will rarely, if ever, wear them as I have transitioned to wearing my gens only but I don't miss the gen Panerai. So, go find yourself your favourite model ( I suggest a Noob v4 111 or a 177 or a H Factory 104 or 240 if you prefer automatic) , swap out the movement for a quality Swiss 6497 variant, put the watch on a quality strap and you will basically be wearing the same thing as a genuine Panerai for around $1k USD. The newer VSF reps of newer models have far more inaccuracies and the irony is that in the gen world, Panerai reputation and value is in free-fall.
What country is that?Feels nice to wear Panerais these days, muggers won't even bat an eye since there's no resell value anymore [at least in my country]
From my local marketplace pam000 sells for 2500usd and radiomirs sell for 2000usd
Any suggestions for smaller wrists? hahaFeels nice to wear Panerais these days, muggers won't even bat an eye since there's no resell value anymore [at least in my country]

I trick myself into believing all of my reps are genuine. That way I feel like a massive, almost unprecedented success. As long as you refuse to leave your mum's basement and face reality, I find this tactic is nigh on bulletproof.

Also, if you don't wear any pants, people will never comment on what watch you are wearing!
Thank You! I try my best!I have read dozens of threads and hundreds of posts on RWI today, and this was by far the greatest post of them all!
Quoting for posterity, and so other noobs like me can see it too and take in the wisdom.
