Seems more and more watches are a pick and mix of parts since the raids.
I haven’t seen this with many watches but this watch is below VSF quality. It’s overall a nice piece but they forgot to add lume on my hands and dial LOL !
You are right the raids have been a huge challenge for this space.

I get the feeling VSF peaked about 2 years ago. Since that time Clean have taken control and are more in demand in China.

Visually the bezel is ok! It’s the bezel action that is off. So is the lume. It’s terrible. This is clearly a Franken VSF with VSF parts mixed with other factories.
Unsure if case is ceramic as it looks, weighs, feels and sounds steel!

I am not expert here but I know that one cannot produce steel in color, you can dye the steel or darken it by using oxidizing solutions and heat which is basically a coating. Ceramic on the other hand can be produced in color in and out. If you suspect that your case is made of SS, coating will be scratched off over time and you will see the metallic color underneath those scratches.

I am not going to vouch for counterfeiter business ethics here but they've been using ceramic for years in their dials, bezels, inserts, etc.
Moulding a ceramic case shouldn't be that hard for those Guangzhou fellows :)

Yes the boys in Guangzhou can preform miracles! I still think it’s coated metal with the watch I hand however the watch hold GEN weight so who knows! I don’t have a magnet here. VSF did in the past coat a PAM and sold a ceramic so they are known to stack the deck!

Well steel is cheaper than ceramic and it's all about the cost with these guys so I wouldn't be overly surprised if your case is indeed coated steel :)

I really hope this isn’t true. Shouldn’t it weigh decently different?

Don’t think vsf would advertise as ceramic if not
They did on a PAM in the past.

Anyway after a few days on the wrist I ended up ordering the YG as well. Once the rubber have been worn in its quite comfy. The size have a nice presence and looks better VS the 42mm300m for a larger wrist.

Think i will need to wait for the next batch to be released by VSF.

It can be easily confirmed by using a magnet like he said
IMHO it's a pretty dangerous test: you risk ending up magnetizing the springs for nothing.
And are you that sure that the case is actually made from a magnetic SS?

This is correct ! don't use a powerful magnet.

I don't think a thin fridge magnet would pose any threat to insides :)

I just got a blue rose gold VSF and it's the worst watch I have, even Pagani Design has better bezel action (one of them is actually very good).
Not one moving part is as it should be:
1. bezel - backplay, lateral play, play when you push it down on one side and other side lifts, every play imaginable, it's really bad
2. rotor - cheapest sounding as it is even possible, so much rattle
3. crown - you have to move it clockwise just a smidge to get it from second (date set) position back to first position (winding)

I just got a Phylida (the new blue NH38A one) for 130€ and Guanqin Longines Hydroconquest homage for 70€ from AE and they are both wonderful watches, 100 times better than this 370€ VSF.
Back to Christopher Ward for me.
It's actually the same story as 10 years ago. I actually still have a running Aqua Terra Captain's Watch and it was already dead for a few days. But that one is also all sorts of bad, crown thread gone, clicking when handwinding.

Kinda feels like another factory is using the VSF name but deliver sub par products. Post a pic of the bezel please. Thanks
