PAM2164 --> what's the difference to 974?
I tried on the 2164 while I was out X-mas shipping. Panerai stiff the buyer by using a cheaper casebook. Also Case, crownloard & bezel have different gold hues, almost like the gold mix is different per component. Not unlikely made a different locations. Very visible under the AD bright lights.

VSF uses incorrect crown guard construction and the casebook is curved and not completely flat as per GEN. Same construction as per older VSF DUEs. Probably due to the movement. Hard to see on the wrist. I will post QCs when I get them - 1250 & 1336 inbound.
I'm sorry, but I have to vehemently disagree. I tested the VSF 904 once and if you have a normal wrist, you can see the extra thickness immediately. It's a completely different watch to the Gen-Due ... unfortunately, because otherwise I really liked the 904.

That was a very academic review - I must have missed it. Great Job.
I have tried on the GEN but never done the comparison but as per the measurements the REP is 25% thicker vs GEN.
Imho the GEN sits better on the wrist due to the flat casebook but I see from your pics that the bezel is taller as well.

Yeap the bezel is really the part (and cg) that you notice first as rep. The thickness is below the midcase but depending on wrist shape that may well disappear a bit. But you can’t miss the too tall bezel.

But it is a nice looking rep and if I’d not gone gen I’d have snapped it up!

Thanks. Maybe I'm being a little too harsh in my assessment. I also like wearing Offshore Reps, for example, even though they are far too thick compared to Gen. At the end of the day, this is a very subjective question. You can only objectively measure the differences to Gen. Then the verdict is clear. But that doesn't mean it's a bad watch. Whatever you like is allowed. And there is no doubt that the Due-Reps are otherwise beautiful watches. So why shouldn't you enjoy them?

Clearly a large difference in case sizes.

Not harsh at all, you call it how you see it and I agree with you assessment. Value add.

iMPO the thinner case is the whole point in this model, it is the only pam that got me curious.

It is ome of the cleanest model of all the pam’s.

They are up on intime, so more pics can be found here:

The markers on six o‘clock on the VSF submersibles are often so damn crooked, as with this one here. Such obvious flaws shouldn’t pass the internal QC check imho, let alone being used for TD pictures.

I think VSF forgot the gold hands on the 1250... not 100% sure though.

its actually quite hard to tell from the intime pictures I agree..... the early pix in this thread they appear gold but the lighting on the IT ones is harsh ....you'd have to wait for QC I guess to check. they also still state its 44mm. oh dear!!!!

yeah about that as its not overly long on me it was the "standard" I find their XL too big and their XS too small........ Not at home at the moment to measure it - but my wife can wear it too and she has small wrists. standard Pam sizes are....

I ordered one from Marv for Mrs Ah0rsey and he will confirm to me whether that it is indeed 42mm not 44mm…. Which I’m sure it’s just the website is wrong 👍

oh and it was $360 shipped to UK for interest

Qc from marv . Just fyi. Looks like springbar maybe not click, quick or screw. And still can’t tell if hands gold or not 😉😉😉.

Gen as compare for dial .. not a bad effort on first glance, but case, crown, bezel … well🤪
