New to reps, confused about the factories

So I've been looking at watches that I can get at around 300-450$ maximum, each. I looked at a lot of factories like VSF, BPF, Clean, etc. I'm new to all this, and this will be some of my first reps, and I can't find the fit for me. I identified these specific models of watches that look good for me, at least

Rolex -
Submariner 16610LN
Daytona 116500LN
Daytona 116528
GMT Master II 116710LN
Explorer I 124270
Yachtmaster 226659
Seadweller 16600

Omega -
Seamaster Diver 300M (Steel on rubber strap, Black)

I would be choosing 4 out of these for now, and getting more later if I like them.
My inclination is towards these watches -

Submariner 16610LN
Daytona 116500LN
Yachtmaster 226659 / Seamaster Diver 300M (To my eye, they both are pretty similar)
Explorer I 124270

If I get 2, I could probably spend 400$ each on 2 of these, for now
If I want to get all 4 of them, 250-300$ is where I'd like to purchase them.

I don't care about the movement. If it can track time to some accuracy and doesn't stop after 10 minutes, I'm fine with it. What matters to me is the look and feel, like the materials, dial, and printing. I would choose that one if the movement is satisfactory and the looks are good. Could someone recommend which factory's watches I should be looking at for this purpose?

I recommend that you do your own research and learn the differences yourself. I can point you in the right direction, but remember that these are only my opinions, not a definitive answer.

Sub - VSF / Clean
Daytona - VSF is probably the closest you’ll get to the price range you’re describing.
YM - Clean / VSF
Explorer - Clean
Seamaster - VSF / ZF?

You’ll find tons of threads on the forum comparing these models. Good luck!

A BP explorer with an ETA clone movement is a cheap entry level that aesthetically has very little difference to its higher quality counterpart.

None of the watches you listed can be had at good quality below 400$ imo. Unless you try M2M.

In this price range you can get good mid tier watches. I would prefer ETA clones like 2835/36 or 2824 cause they are reliable and cheap to
change if something goes wrong.
Look at the TD's listings, there are plenty of those. For cheaper prices you can look at BP factory too.

Hi buddy @blazerav

Yes. The VSF Factory direct stocks are good quality stuff.

Please do be cautious to buy ONLY from Trusted Dealers as there are lurking fake VSF stocks around.

If there is anything we can help you with any queries, please feel free to EMAIL at: [email protected] or PM us here.

Do yourself (and us) a favour. Buy ONE watch at a time. Because if you buy multiple watches and have them shipped to you in one shipment, the chances of them being seized by Customs, is far higher than if it is one watch. Naturally, you'll pay multiple times for postage, but the risk is less.

Hi - I'm new here too and I can tell you there is a LOT of nuance between the factories! I've spent hours and hours trying to understand the difference and I'm nowhere near having the confidence to be sure about my purchase. Was thinking of starting with the really cheap stuff just to experiment but could be a false economy. I'm definitely buying one at a time

I do not really advise going for the low end cheap stuff.

If you ask me, the VSF Factory stuff aint very expensive but at least you are very sure you are getting a good watch.

Thanks.

Im pretty sure I can fit a few in my budget, I looked at this watch -
I saw a review about this watch too, how is this compared to the VSF variant? I was looking at Andiot watches, but now that I am viewing TrustyTime there are many variants with almost identical specs for around 250 - 300, instead of 350-450

For reference - All that matters to me is the look and feel, timekeeping, hell, if it's an hour late or an hour early I dont really care. As long as the timepiece is functioning, and moving, at a speed which wont seem like it's moving too slow or too fast, it's good with me. My main emphasis is on the looks and materials, rather the time keeping capability of the rep

Should pay the extra $200 on one quality watch then buy two or three of a lesser watch.

Since you are looking at Rolex Sub you should check these links.

This is an excellent thread, esp for us newbies. I've been here for 1 yr plus but got sidetracked with work and family. Have traded emails with CT for a 39m Explorer I and deciding between BP or CF is my dilemma. I can spend the extra $$ for Clean but have read that the 3132 mvmt can be iffy. Some say you should bring it in for servioce after you get it. Not what I'd want to do with a new watch TBH. The 2824 in the BP version is pretty rock solid. Or so I have read.
If the avg Joe cannot tell diff between CF and BP, unless they look very closely or remove case back, I thnk BP may be my choice.
Any feedback appreciated. I'm set up with Wise to buy and ready to pull trigger tonight.

Thank you!!

Yes. 1000% correct.
I mean the cheap ones can't be THAT bad? Is it the movements? have some Chinese Nh34 and Nh35's and they're great. Still bang on time for years.

Hi Andrew - new guy here. Can you tell me if the 3-6-9 issue I've read about is resolved now?
And is the 3132 an iffy mvmt? I've read suggestions to have it serviced after delivery. Seems odd to buy something that needs immed service.
I'm leaning to BP version with 2824. I know its a lower qlty but Im reading most of us would never know that it is.

Thank you!
