Depending on lighting conditions, the insert changes shades. If you don't like the Noob red, look at the VRF/ROF, that one is lighter.
Now that you have both in hand, what insert you like more between ROF and Noob, just in terms of what is aesthetically nicer to you and disregarding gen accuracy?
Tough question I have always been a fan of Noob (only owned Noob inserts). This is my first Non-Noob and it is growing on me. In direct sunlight, I like ROF colors better (the blue and red contrast is great)
Thanks. As a person who doesn't care for gen likeness and just aesthetics, along with recessed SELs, seems like a hyrbid of the two isn't necessary and that I just need to replace the crystal.
I have both Noob Blue dial 126719 and ROF Meteorite in hand (With Modder now for franken project). Here are my initial thoughts:In my opinion, you will need a hybrid build to get the best of both worlds, Good luck!! For reference, here are my approved QCs. Will post more pics when project is completed.
- Both ROF and Noob insert color schemes are good. Frankly, the more I look at the ROF brighter colors(Gen MK1 or 116719 colors), the more I like it. But Noob is closer to current generation colors. The bezel rotation mechanism itself is horrible in ROF (lots of resistence with no gen like click feedback). Noob is better in that aspect. I don't know yet of the Noob bezel still suffers from the bad construction (as seen in their 126710 pepsi models)
- Build quality of both watches seem reasonable to me. I like the case/SEL/CG shapes and polish on both, Noob has a slight edge for me. Frankly, the ROF price point is very good for a movement with VR. The ROF Meteorite dial color has blue hues (I plan to replace it)
- ROF crystal is bad, you will need a better alternative. WG Crown is correct in Noob (bigger center dot) but wrong in ROF (all 3 are even, that's for SS models)
- I liked the ROF hands better (shine and finish) but then I am replacing with gen hands. I also like the ROF marker lume plots better.
- ROF rehaut print is pretty good, better than the Noob. DW on ROF and Noob will need to be replaced (Not sure if it is DW boldness or wrong cyclops mag, but ROF Dates are not good).
- Both use Noob bracelets but ROF case has SEL recess. Noob is almost flush (I tend to prefer that though ). Quality of bracelet is very good. Both my clasps have ARF like quality. I am still replacing bracelet with ARF.

These are great pics. This rep looks good! Slap in a Clark's crystal with AR cyclops and done. Yes please, lol.
Thanks from you is a compliment. looking at it well, however, I can say that the ring does not turn correctly, that is, it is a little slow and cannot fix itself correctly.

Thanks for sharing, so should I just replace those pieces?I was able to see the video. I've had a GMT rep or two with this exact issue. I can see how it could be viewed as a flaw and an annoyance. I was never bothered by it as long as it wasn't really loose. I never use my bezels so as long as they stay put and the triangle is aligned, I'm good.
This issue is caused by the oval plates in the 3 pin click ring not being large enough to fill the scalloped detents in the crystal retaining ring and/or span the groove gap adequately, so there is play. Ive also had the opposite problem on one GMT rep where those oval plates were too large and it made rotation super hard. I sanded the plates down a little to fix that but if they are too small the only fix is a different part (one or both).
Thanks for sharing, so should I just replace those pieces?
I should send it to a watchmaker then.
