I ordered the black. I want to see if the dial is gloss or Matt. Crossing my fingers. The color of the engravings on the bezel actually look great from what I can see.

Just in, overall very impressed.

Dial is nice, with font crisp
Dial insert is all aligned and font is nice and thick gloss 3D print
AR is good
Bezel click is good and aligned well (some play)
Bezel ingraving is nice and filling is good (I was a little unsure based on pictures but is all good)
Movement is nice and quiet, no wobbly stem
Strap is nice and soft
Most important it is actually 42mm (have not measured but is definitely not 44mm as other versions were)

So you might say I’m a fan now that it is finally in hand

Same opinion here. How difficult was the resizing for you ?

Some news about my movement : after cleaning and regulating, it worked, but never exceeded 220° of amplitude, which encouraged me to have a complete movement swap (pending).
I stay on my initial opinion concerning the quality variations of the PT5000.
It would make sense to know which clone is in your rep when you order one with ETA clone.

The strap was very easy to resize, sharp knife on a cutting board. I was actually surprised how easy as I’ve had more trouble cutting gen Breitling straps

Is the gen dial glossy or Matt? I have ordered a black 42mm and 44mm. I'll do a comparison once I get them. I know the 44mm is Matt but intested to see the differences in both

It’s not as glossy as say an Omega PO Deep Black, but not flat matte either…somewhere in between.

Hey guys, after countless videos watched and handling the dark blue and black gens only the black, blue and light/baby blue dials should be glossy from my gathering. Green and orange should be semi matte with some radiance just like the pictures of the black and blue 44 I have in this thread (which should have been glossy). Don't know about the bronze ones or white one. Didn't know there was a yellow 42 until just now looking on Breitling's website. That is pretty much the only thing I've been scrutinizing. Not that it bothered me a huge amount because I bought two of them anyway pretty much knowing they would be not glossy . I haven't given any thought to bezel engravings or details like that.

I think Bruce Williams' video on the Kelly Slater 5:13 minutes you can see the texture is the best I've come across so far (not to plug him specifically but best I've seen of the Orange)

And Watch on Wrist on ytube. Lots of the new Superocean vids. Not a review channel just awesome, short, wrist shot vids in outdoor lighting of pretty much any watch you might be interested in.

I have a feeling I'm going to go for the Kelly Slater and possibly the blue depending on Korky's insight. My 44 TF is still going strong. Put on a different strap for a couple days. Green or blue canvas might work as well.

@shinynewbling25 nice summary, I can’t count how many times I’ve watched the Bruce Williams' video on the Kelly Slater prior to buying and now again

I think they nailed it and I can be pretty fussy, not so much about differences to gen but in finishing quality. Hopefully BLS can have the same quality on the Top Time Triumph being made.

@Thatwatchguy Heck yeah. Watch bunch of vids before buying. Buy. Then maybe a day or two rest being satisfied from pulling the trigger. Then watch more videos to kill the time waiting then once you have it you have to watch the videos over again reveling in the fact you now have it, lol.

I've been really liking the Top Times lately after seeing at them when I was in Vegas a couple months ago especially those new car ones with bright colors. I like Triumph color a lot.

Yeah I had the top time zoro, not sure why I moved it on…the ice blue dial on the Triumph is calling me.

I just fear the sunken date on some which for me is an eyesore

Trying some different straps, I like the olive green but also black on it…I am tempted by the gen black 315S only $120 AUD

The OR strap is excellent. From my point of view it matches black and white dials very well. For the orange, the green strap is the perfect and not so common combination.

So mine is back from movement swap, and I'd like to confirm (although it's a bit difficult to check with the crystal) that the blue dial on the 42mm is glossy.
