If you think you can, then you can. Like you mentioned this isn't about impressing anyone else.
Most guys look for tells in the watches they wear without realizing that the watch becomes a tell when it is on their wrists.
The attitude (and not the income) makes the watch believable. If one is overly concerned about tells on a rep watch costing a few hundred dollars, that alone is the wrong attitude IMHO.
Wear your watch well sir. It is well deserved!

I guess the impressing others part is especially a thing with APs having seen quite some hype in the last few years and being a bit more flashy.
Wanted to steer clear of APs for that reason, but the week of year complication in APs Perpetual Calenders really speaks to me ;)

Regarding tells, I did show a friend who wore a gen Patek 5712 a PPF 5712 V1, which has countless big tells including only a decorated Hangzhou movement, a big gap between the dial and moonphase disc etc.
His response - Well, I did not notice them in comparison and even if I had, I would have thought this was just another model year :D

btw: While I just got into looking into APs because of the week of year complication - I might catch a bug here and I appreciate all you do in this section of the forum.

Do all the functions work on this one? Could they not make a code 11.59 perpetual using this movement?

Many of the functions work, but not all. I have the BBR green dial which I only wear on occasion, so this is mostly from memory, but the 52-week counter, month function, and of course leap year function have to be set manually. Everything else functions normally. Pretty amazing that they were able to modify the movement to do all that.

Not sure about the form factor of code 11.59 vs. this royal oak (you can probably just google the movement for both), but since the 4401 chrono movement is the same for the RO and 11.59 chronos, I would guess this movement could be shoehorned into 11.59.
