Yes. It might be, since I have v1 and looks okay.

thanks for clarifying. So I guess its really just the cheap looking leather strap which makes the V2 a V2.

But could it be also just depending on different light situations? Do you have the rep so you could compare it?
I have to agree, that on a lot of the pictures on TD Websites it appears to be a black dial.
But at an post of mickszym (https://forum.replica-watch.info/for...83#post8792383) the gen seems to be pretty black as well.

I used to have it and could never replicate the grey appearance. hence, the dial is off.
I assume this is due to the process involved which VSF just cannot match (wild guess). Omega's dial "is brushed ceramic, though in this case the familiar wave motif is laser engraved in positive relief."

Don't get me wrong, it's still an amazing replica, but the appearance differs quite a lot from gen. The rep seems a bit dead because all there is is black whereas the gen creates this unique balance between white grey and black

On the omega website it appears to very black as well. So it is an chameleon dial depending the light. Seems like the rep isnt.

exactly, only that my photo shows a gen, not a rep, which emphasizes my whole point..

I have v1 and simply one of the most satisfying rep watches I have owned.

It might be just a light situation or photoshop that dial looks grey in picture.

Furthemore, it is pretty hard to find Gen in AD. I tried several ADs in my region(Asia) and can't find single piece. (Maybe only in the region I live)

Pictures of Original / little bit of Lightroom in order to make more grey looking as follow.

Thanks for showing how a filter can change things.

I think its the light. On this photo there is def no filter used but still its very grey dial:

The video posted orinally byernien shows not much of a difference. Do you think that one of them is really a GEN?
I think left one is gen and right one is vsf, by looking at regulator. Hope I can understand Chinese.

Pictures (sorry, I am doing this through the phone)
Assuming the left is gen and right is vsf.

1. Gen movement from the other website
2. Gen looking movement on left
3. Vsf looking movement on right
4. Now I understand why thediesel17 mentioned about grey dial. Gen has slightly whiter lume too.
5. Gen Bezel
6. Rep Bezel
-> Gen has thicker and deepper ingraving.

Wow thanks for sharing the screenshots!

Pretty much the same thoughts i had. But I was not sure about it. The lume seems ok ... not the same but its alright. And a relume by my local watchsmith is always an option.
Still not sure about the dial. Maybe I will check at the AD again and be focused on it.

I compared the videos of V1 and V2 from Puretime. Seems they managed the flaw of the dial. Appears to be much more grey on V2 then on V1.

V1:

My TD can't seem to find one with properly aligned text on the dial, every single watch has a misprint. The text and the logo should be exactly in the middle between the waves. But they're not. Does anyone else have the same problem, or do I need a new TD?

Speaking of the V2 I guess?

Sure. It's the same watch, just a new batch. They used to come with an extra nato, now it's an extra hideous monstrosity of a leather strap. This is why it's called a V2.

Thanks for clarifying! I think so too.
I compared some screenshots of the videos from PT as you can see above. The dial looks a bit different but could be also just the light.
Lets see what my TD says... But I think he will tell me its the same watch.

I think it's lightening again.

1. v1 capture from video
2. v2 capture from video (has way more litening)
3. Same capture as no.1 with more exposure

The only way to figure out is buy v1 and v2.

Should I?

You might wanna give it a try ;)

1.And the wave lines seem to grey/light black (if this colour is existing) compared to the rest of the dial in V1.
2. The waves from V2 seem darker compared to rest of the dial.
3. the dial appears grey now but the waves are still "more" grey.
