New PPF 5712 with PP240 Super Clone.....

Just to update you guys…

My local watchmaker tried to fit a gen barrel with mains spring and was unable. It doesn’t fit.
We ended up swapping only the mainspring.

Cancelling my order of the balance complete for this watch as it would probably not fit.
It’s a functional clone, it gives us the gen functionality but it’s not a 1:1 like 4130s around.

Also finally silenced the rotor

Looks the same to me. I don't think there's a dial update, the colour can vary quite a lot depending on the lighting and camera.

Idk if I'm colourblind but gen looks a bit purple to me too:

Personally, I'm happy with the case/bracelet finish, colour dial and I'm even okay with the moonphase disc. The thing I'd love to become better is the movement finish, but it will probably take many years until we get substantial improvements there. Can't wait to see how this movement looks in real life though. Things always look much worse in those close-up QC pics

I don’t care about dial, v2 it’s already good enough for ootb rep.
All I need is a better moonphase disc! On direct sunlight it gets clearly too light and for anyone that know PP it’s a straight tell. Anything else won’t be a tell.

I showed my V2 to a PP collector and he thought I had the real deal, to him the tell was the clasp being too thing and comparing with gen side by side. With a lot of effort to find stuff

For context my gen 5711 pp is as loud n has vibration as my speedmaster omega racing(eta valjoux) as compared to rolexes which have far less vibration n noise (dj 2011, 2013, 2016, gmt 2021 n ym 1996)

Frankly gen 5711 vs my zf 15400 ..zf is quiet as my rolexes and 5711

So.. its quite fine f cloned watches have a bit of noise and vibrations...imo

None of my gens are not even near a Myiota sound. I guess (don’t quote me on this one) if someone get a gen with a loud rotor they can just ask for the silencing under warranty, at least I would try.
I think I’m on the route to potentially-maybe-godknows get the new 5712 in gold, just been to an event at my local AD.

They can be if not serviced for a long time i believe. I tried a gen 5712 at a dealer (grey) it was loud as hell, sounded worse than a miyota. So rep or gen, they all need a little touch if they are loud

this PP240 clone movement is funded by ZF and made by a Shanghai factory

He thinks after several months(3-6 months), the movement will not be exclusive to ZF anymore.
(and once that is adapted by the other factories, there should be no more bundled sales which is what PPF is doing with Chinese customers right now for this super clone)

5:29 he mentioned there are two types of dial from the same batch, one more greyish, one more blueish, and issued from factory randomly.



6:04 His theory is that the two dials are due to the fact that Gen 5712 does have two different kind of dial, leather strap 5712G001 has the greyish dial, SS strap 5712A001 has the blueish dial,
