Well...I just pulled the trigger on the 5007-05. Time to free up space in the watch box...I guess this means I'll be asking Jacob for another strap.

@evilpenguin I'm assuming you had ABP custom make your (gorgeous) strap. Do you remember any of the details i.e. matte or waxy finish? I saw this strap, but not sure if its the same, but different color and no end stitching

The easiest thing would be to send them this picture and ask for the same thing, if that's what you want. I'm pretty sure it's their special radika tanned alligator matte strap.

Oh, and I just noticed "This watch strap is compatible with original IWC Portuguese tang or deployment buckles" which is incorrect, since IWC tang and deployment buckle straps are completely different regarding the lenghts.

This may very well be. However it has to have rounded ends to properly fit the rounded spring bars of the 5007.

What's funny to me is that I'll consider dropping over $300 for a watch strap, but I'll opt for the soup at the office cafeteria to save $3 over the daily entree

So you just have to do that a hundred times and your strap is paid for. :hehehe:

Anyway, I would not spend that much money for a 3rd party strap anyway but rather get me the OEM strap. Alternatively, I'd go for Jacob et al, much more affordable whilst having excellent quality, but that's just my personal opinion.

Very good points. I am chatting with Jacob as we speak, and getting a sense of which direction I want to go in. TBH, ABP makes some beautiful pieces, and the splurge of an extra $150-$200 for the strap may be worth the investment IMO. On the flip side, if I ever sell it, obviously I would either keep the strap for another IWC (V5???) or sell it to another member who may want it. Considering how many ppl comment on @evilpenguin 's combo, I think there'd be plenty of interest.

If I understand, you're looking to add a gen dial. Evilpenguin's has gen dial...you can problaly ask him.

Looking at the length of the thread somebody will probably have already asked this question before... But within 1 week I already got the AR of the crystal scratched. Are more people experiencing bad quality AR on this ZF version or was I just unlucky?

Send it away for new AR treatment. Mine is inbound with a new coating courtesy of Crystal CleAR. More photos on arrival but here is the one they sent after installing the 2xAR

Is it just me, or is the most commonly misaligned number on the ZF V4 White Dial / Blue Markers the number 5 or some other number or marker?

Or does it just appear that way in pictures given the shape of the crystal? I've been trying to purchase this IWC 7 Day with a white dial / blue markers, but I've rejected 3 already because the 5 appears misaligned on all of them (but yet the number 7 directly across from it seems fine).

Can someone of you confirm? Also, for those of you who brought/sent it to a watchsmith to have the misaligned number(s)/marker(s) corrected, can you advise how much it cost you?
