I've had that happen on other watches, so now i squeeze the croc from the sides on the way in so it doesn't get scratched.

Hadn't happened to any of my 5001 at all
This strap is much to thick to squeeze it in. It wont bend at all.

Keep doing that and you'll just annoy the TD. Dial markers are simply glued on, they'll have a pin on the underside that locates into holes drilled in the dial. These have some wiggle room so they just need a wiggle. Easy fix.

I honestly don't think you should spend $400 on any watch and expect to have it put right from the get go. The TD needs to be aware that we are their customers and the factory is their customer. If the product is badly put together, you have the right to say no and not care if it pisses them off. By the time you put a half way decent strap on the 5001 you are talking over $500 and for that you should at least expect a watch with correctly applied markers. They can do it on a $50 Timex after all!

Yes, It's lighter compare to my 3777. I knew it straight when I am holding it but might be the movements is lighter. Not have a digi-scale to weight it to see whats the difference.

theres way more case on the 3777 so it will be heavier. I noticed how light it feels but there is not much case on the 5001

Quite honestly.
If this is the case on mine once I get them I will sand down the corners otäf the deployment so itt does not cut the strap.

I don't think you can compare to a $50 Timex as they are produced in high volumes with proper production processes and probably much more investment in machinery than a small rep factory could, but point taken.
I do agree however that these are not put together with the care they should be. I wonder if the high demand has lead to this? I also wonder how many of the rejected ones get sent back to the factory. You would hope that they will get a bit more careful if they get many back.

It's hard to prevent the odd movement failure (no idea of the % failure rate) but wrongly applied markers, scrapping rotors, off centre dates and so so date wheel printing is not the best and easy to see with reasonable quality control. I feel there are too many of these issues for it to be the odd one slipping through the net.
The case, the hands (where ever you stand on the flat v round) and the deployant are very good indeed.
Having said that I love the ones I have (all been reliable so far) and will be buying more, I have held off my next purchases just to see if the QC improves.

I agree that the quality appears to be worse and the factory is likely to be rushing production to meet the current demand. My TD offered the best one out of 10 choices and it was still not acceptable. The most common issue seems to be a crooked "1" in the "10" applied marker when it comes to the dial. It may be better to wait and see if the quality control improves.

Incredible... and yes, this definitely leads me to wait. I am not the slightest bit interested in such POS.

The more people with magnifying glasses and grid lines refuse their watches, the more exclusive I'll be with mine. I'm happy ??

I've got 5 versions and I've been rotating daily, love them, too much fuss going on in my opinion.

Buy, add croc, wear and enjoy [emoji106]

I am still waiting for my two watches.
Bought VN straps for them but tend to like your Orloff strap so much that i am thinking about getting one as well.

It might beeing a bit of a geek thing but I am actually thinking about a IWC watch box as well for each of them.

I got an amazing IWC watch box, not from a TD here, but gave them a go and it was wow. I'll post some photos soon (weekend), haven't taken any yet
