Anyone any idea or have pictures of how a curved end strap looks on the rep? I am guessing the lug holes are too far away from the case and will likely make the gap look bigger. Any help is appreciated.

Responding to your questions. I've put on a curved end strap and have to tell you it looks ugly because the lug holes are located further therefore creating a huge gaps in between. Not have the picture taken as mine was faulty rotor and already sent back for replacement. Hope this helps!

Thanks, you confirmed my thoughts.

I went to puretime to get one of these beautiful watches, and he has V2 listed, any hints to what that is?

This is probably mentioned somewhere in the thread, but I can't seem to find the info again. Can someone please help me with the measurement that's best for the 5001?

Mario from Orlof sent me this guide:

According to other members, 22/18 and 145/55 will be best for the 5001, but how about "E" and "F"? Should we give him that info as well?
Thanks in advance

I have a 7.5" wrist and have gone for the same lengths as the rep strap (135/55x22/18) otherwise the tongue end will stick out too much especially given the reversed way of having the strap mounted.

Same on mine, and I guess on many other 5001. Probably also depending on the time set? If you ask for another, im afraid it wont be much better, but maybe some crooked numbers in addition. For me, your date is ok...but hey, its up to you.

Mine too. Especially number 16 where the 6 is printed more out of line than the others. Most double digit numbers slightly aligned to the right too. I'd be very surprised if they're not all the same since the DW pad printing plate is probably wrong. Won't wear mine out on the 16th!!

You would need to drill some new lug holes closer to the case and hope the strap covered the old ones.

Not worth a Curved end for this unless new lug holes drilled. The Gen 5007 lug holes been moved back towards the case therefore Curved looks fantastic. Wonder who can drill lug holes in our mod section (Hopefully without any long queue).

Ok. Another silly question:
How do you wind this movement? I just got my Laureus but I can't get it to wind like a normal watch. The crown won't turn 360 degrees. Seems the only way to wind and make the PR needle move up is to crank the crown in a forward and backward motion. Is that correct or did I get a dud? [emoji15]

It should turn clockwise to wind as with any watch.

Thanks. Happy to report it's winding properly now. The crown was just a little stiff (from jet lag? [emoji12]) and I was afraid to apply more pressure so as not to break or twist something in the movement. The warmer clime must have loosened it a bit.

Come for the watches, stay for the drama! [emoji12]

So it's almost 72 hours and the middle three look like they will just make it to 72 hours while the two on the outside have stopped at around 71 hours.

Now I can get back to wearing them!!

I am considering getting one of these. I especially like the white dial / blue hands combo. I love the way this watch looks, only thing I am not sure about is the reliability of the movement. It is going to be only my 2nd rep (my 1st was PAM 029K Noob) and I am not at a point in life where I can buy a new watch more than once a year, therefore i want to make it count. Do you think it would be smarter to wait for the V2 or V3 or should I just go for this one now?

Hi all,

I am new to this thread and love it!

I am a bit confused and have a question regarding the white dial/gold markers, hope sometime can clear this up for me!

When I see the watch on TD sites the dial looks plain white, almost ivory even, but on some watch photos I saw from members the dial has a silvery sheen to it. Even on some gen photos I see the silver dial.

So which is it? Is it the same dial with just the different lighting? Because they look really different and I much prefer the silver!

Here are some comparison shots:

TD with the plain white:

And here is a photo uploaded on RWI of the rep, it has a clear silver shine to the dial:

And here are the gens with silver dials:
