It may be that the dealers are using different ways of describing the same thing, which would make sense, from a marketing perspective.
So I take it that the 9000 and the 9001, even if they are only made to look like the gen and nothing else, are looked upon favourably? Is it a decent movement in and of itself?
I have an xf 312. I think the xf is the new v6f (please correct me if i'm wrong, can't find reference to them) but they look to be using the vsf movement.

In terms of the movement it feels quite well built, with the crown turning crisp and no slippage on bith my 312 and 441. Although the rotor is still loud like other asian movements. I think a little treatment from our modders here can remedy that. The 441 I've had for over a mobth now and works flawlessly nothing broken...yet

Hmm, sounds like it could be a winner, I guess time will tell.

Yea i would pic vsf over zf or v6f just because of the balance wheel. :)

There is no documented advantage in terms of reliability of the A7750 over the newer movement so the VSF version is certainly the one to get. Where did you get the XF PAM312? I don't think they released a PAM312 the same time as their sister factory VSF.

I had a typo, meant to say *pick :)

Ingot the xf 312 last week and a half on m2m. I thibk xf was released a little later than vsf. I will compare the movement with my vsf 441 to see if the jewels and everything else is identical. I think they are using vsf due to the same balance wheel placement.

No matter what the dry water test results say, do your due diligence and have your rep waterproofed by a local watchmaker.

Waiting on my watch to come in, and I would like to get it out to get serviced right away. Is there anyone in the States that is good for that? I have been searching for someone to service my IWC for me and haven't found anyone, so I hoped someone like yourself or @ALE7575 can point me in the right direction for a Stateside servicer that's trusted.

OR

Just tell me that it's good from the factory and that you saw nothing wrong from the teardowns. Whatever works haha

Serviced to make the rotor silent? Some oil? Sorry never did that to my 312 but might want to do the same.

Also mine is xf 312 but same balance wheel. Is it using the same vsf movement?

Well, not just to make it quiet, but also for the better sealing of the watch, and to clean it if it needs to be cleaned.

Let me just level with you, I can't even change the battery on a quartz, yet alone oil it myself. So I would rather have someone (professional or hobby) to oil it for me or do whatever little touch ups it can use.

or as I said, OR, if it doesn't need anything, leave it alone.

Absolutely, I was searching for one locally and only found a local jeweler. There is a Watch-smith who owns a jewelry store near me, and I took my New IWC to him because it froze on me after 30 days.

The watch smith charged me $80 bucks to reset the watch and maybe lube it a little. $80? I probably could have gotten more for that elsewhere, but he did save me from an expensive paperweight.

Said he didn't take it apart or tear it down, but he had to rewind the balance wheel or whatever the power reserve thing is called. reset it, and gave it a touch of oil as he seen fit. That was all he did. It's been running fine for almost two years and hopefully for many more.

Nice at least you got it fixed bro.

Yes, but I would like to keep it cleaned and functioning well, and do the same for any new watch I get. Hope to find someone local sooner than later.

It's funny, with VSF it seems to be hit or miss with noisy rotors, I have a 386 "fantasy" with the usual noisy rotor from them, but my 441 VSF is SUPER quiet compared to every other rep I own (inc. noob, HF, etc...), maybe I lucked out?? Either way, VSF are making amazing pieces and revolutionary progress, my only grievance is the faux power reserve, would love to see them solve that (and the 24hr to 12hr GMT correction)... always room to improve..... but a big thumbs up to the company for such a bold step with completely new movements!!!

Will a drop of oil on the rotor quiet the movement? Or we need to change the bearings or something? My 312 is pretty loud comoared to my vsf 441.

A watchmaker will typically disassemble a portion of the movement when lubricating. I doubt it is the rotor that's making the noise, unless you're hearing swishing sounds when you move your arm. My PAM312 VSF is super quiet (it should be as it took its sweet time getting here. :lmao: ).

The 9001 has a GMT function, power reserve indicator on the back as well as a very handy seconds reset. The 9000 is just hours, minutes and seconds along with the datewheel complication.

Hi mate, do you know if the power reserve in the clone 9001, is functional or just decorative?
