Good to know the crown and lever are sturdy on yours - I guess @S.Martin was just plain unlucky on his. Something to make the TD aware of when placing an order for this model.

How is the carbotech construction on the rep? Is it bonded layers as per gen or is the look achieved by another process - paint / etc - I have no idea hence the question.

As mysterio said, the case features layers of bonded carbon and the result looks very nice.

Does anyone know if these cases scratch easily or if there are any other reasons to be careful with it? Can these cases get wet? (ie rain/washing hands not submersion)

I scratched my bezel somehow and it looked like metal underneath. Rubbed it with my finger and now can’t see it. Meltdown avoided. Lol

That's an interesting development. Can you take a picture of the bezel?

No exaggeration, I thought I ruined the watch. I scratched it between the 35 & 30 markers. Rubbed it with my thumb and now there’s no trace. Very happy about that.

Thanks for the shot! As stories of carbotech performance against scratches are rare (I don't think i've even come across one thread on WUS or on Risti), documented instances such as yours provide us some info for future reference.

I’d say it scratched easy as I don’t now how or when it happened, but just rubbing it with my thumb was like using an eraser on lead. It really hid it or scratches just rub out on this material.

Thank you s.martin and mysterio for the good information! The carbon material is very impressive and I would like to keep it pristine! I really enjoy the way the carbon reflects light at different angles. Does anyone know if the gen carbon reflects light in the same way? The gen pictures earlier in the thread appear slightly less reflective if that makes sense.

Digging a new strap combo on my 616. Now to send it off for service, crown/stem repair and waterproofing. Here’s a couple of pics with the new strap.

Thank you. Found this strap on eBay and I? think it’s a perfect match. The crown lever is really loose and the stem is very wobbly. Was like that when I received it. Other than that, I love the watch. Keeps very good time and hadn’t given any issues. Been enjoying it, but now ready to send it off for a little spa treatment.

Really nice combo! Congrats!

Would you mind share the eBay info from the strap’s seller?

Carlottin1. They’re out of Spain. Very good strap. As nice as my high end straps. And only $70. Very happy with it.

I remember you were disappointed in the crown when you got it, but it really looks amazing. definitely a keeper once fixed and waterproofed.

Yeah, lucky you. Well, he probably puts some straps on sale every once in a while. There's a green canvas there that would look awesome on a bronzo for just $75. :)
