New ORF SMPc 300m A8800 released today

Found a video on youko that compares or and vs. The video also has subtitles in English so worth watching. Basically the reviewer says and shows that or did the same "dodgy move" noob did on their new sub movements were they just hide the regulator arm to make it look like a free sprung movement.

At the end gf has the same seagull movement as the vsf.

I’ve seen that but movement aside the guy reviewing has no real clue what he’s talking about with other details, he’s a bit of a vsf fanboy lol.

Most of dealers in china prefer to sell watches from vsf because they have the best after sales market service compared to the other factories. That being said at the end its the same exact movement would be interesting to do a franken between both watches.

Yes it would. I chose to buy trusty’s $308 version before ORF release as it shared the same case and bracelet and dial which are much better overall than vsf, especially the bracelet but the vsf bezel scallops are deeper and closer to gen than orf. Also the cheaper one had a poorer ar crystal so I’ve swapped in a vsf crystal and bezel assembly. It also came with the blackened hands from the white dial version(my fault and trusty’s awful qc pic quality!) getting Andrew to understand this is proving difficult to send me the correct hand set! In the meantime I’ve fitted some vsf hands but they were damaged during a failed relume! Here is a pic

Just ordered a blue one from Li although it’s bloody holidays again in China so 2 weeks wait for qc! He says the blue looks ok so I’ll try it.

I’ve seen a video of the blue version and it looks good. I think it’s purely lighting in the photos making it appear darker.

I just purchased the white dial version from Li. I hope it not as awful as another user suggested. lol

Their own press shots look pretty good. Not sure on the blue shade yet but Li will show me first and if I don’t liKe it then we’ll sort it out. Kind of hoping they will release the grey dial.

I am new to Omega Reps but shouldn't the white dial have black hands and black surround for indices and the date window looks too low?

Looking closer at other pictures of Gens it does appear that the hands may be a polished silver material and appears darker in some pictures than others. ​​​​​​​

Notice how every single photo is at the same angle, with the same exact lighting? Notice how every little bit of polished or brushed stainless is a perfect neutral gray? NOT REAL.

Go on Chrono24.com or some such site with REAL pics of REAL watches, and compare from there. You will have a better result.

That makes sense, good info. The below is from Chrono24.com, while not a close up when you zoom in it does appear to be just a polished material and not painted black.

In this video it also appears to be polished silver/mirror finish. It def changes with the angle of lighting. 3 of the 4 shown in this video appear to have the same hands with the first one with silver dial has blue hands that closely match its bezel.
