Here you go—took the gen on a walk this morning and grabbed this pic in similar non-direct sunlight as the rep pic. Even though it does kinda look like it, no filters or effects have been added.

And here's your side-by-side comparison :) The rep doesn't look too bad.

impressive. Great comparison shot, shows a real likeness. you have made a lot of the purchasers of the v2 very happy and relieved I’d say.

Is it just me or does it seem that the dome of the xtal is not similar to the dome of the gen? Or maybe just reflection? A nice side by side from a side angle would be great if possible.

Mr Burgundy doesn’t have a rep for comparison he’s just tried to replicate the TDs image using his gen and done a very good job I’d say. The reflection is always going to look different as the exact lighting conditions can never be fully replicated, remember these photos were taken some days and thousands of miles apart!! I think the crystal will be ok, never heard that mentioned as a major issue on the V1.

Thank you MrBurgundy, you are a gentleman.

Rep looks very good in your comparison.

We can’t nit pick at the colours too much (based on photos) since even the grass looks different colours. Haha.

Rep looks good here, only real way to tell how close it is is to have the two together in same conditions. I think VSF have delivered here. It’s about as close as an ARF sub is to the real deal, close enough

The numbers on the bezel insert are a smidge shorter on the rep, you can see the difference in the gap between the top of the numbers and the outside edge of the insert. They are maybe a little thinner too but I think it is still looking good.

Remember the rep pic on the right isn't my one; so that grass—and those hands—are probably a looooong way from me, hence the differences. Although it was a little cloudy when I took my photo this morning (as can been seen in the reflection) which tends to make some colours a little more vibrant...and also I just had days of rain which made everything very green.

Yes I think V1 bezel looks closer to gen. The combination of V1 bezel and V2 body and V2 strap seems great.

As with all reps, always subtle differences, hour marker and bezel number colour is lighter too and I’d say the Gen bezel insert is a little Taller than rep...but it’s starting into to nit pic territory then. The accuracy For the cost is very good a lot like the Rolex sub reps, always differences. Great thing is there will be less of these omegas around, in London every where I go (went, due to current restrictions) someone has a submariner or Rolex diver variation.

I think it is only going to be noticeable with a serious close up examination so the rep is near enough for me.

Ha! Yes. I just meant that if the grass in the rep pic was fake, people would be saying “rep grass colour looks way off compared to gen grass”

You’re right tho, hard to compare rep vs gen subtle differences unless both are side by side in exactly the same light and angles...which isn’t realistically gonna happen in real life.

If you were in U.K, I’d send you a rep to get your thoughts. If something was off with the rep, your eyes would know straight away. I’d rather live in ignorance

So I’ve tried to replicate the angles and sizes for comparison, looks like the rep is tilted slightly backwards (looking at the angle of the top lugs) this may explain why the crystal looks different. Case looks identical but looking the dial dimensions the marker look more ‘maxi’ on the gen.

Other than that I think I’m ready to give it a go and make my order! I’ll compare it with the vsf v2 grey dial when that arrives and probably flip the one that doesn’t suit me.

There is more of a gap between the applied markers and the corresponding dial indices on the rep but this may just be down to the applied dots being ever so slightly smaller.

Do you know this for sure, or are you just speculating?

Pure speculation. Sorry, I should have made that clearer. I'm convinced they will though - why wouldn't they!?!! We've gone from steel to titanium case in the blink of an eye, I bet this time next year we're all rocking the finest rep meshes available on the t'interweb!

Hi Guys, my plan is to get this on nato, and then get the SMP rubber strap on it, will it fit?
The strap below I think would look great on this titanium watch

I don’t know man.

Can’t see anyone talking about No Time To Die next year (after the movie). Ok, maybe 50 blokes still talking about it on a rep forum but rep forum sales represent 5% of factory sales apparently (ref. Angus circa 2017).

Unless they release the Ti mesh soon, it could be game over. VSF ain’t really in the game of releasing multiple versions post the initial prototyping phase.

I image a bit more R&D is required to develop a cost effective mesh in Ti. Changing the case material is easier....it’s just a Machined block...doesn’t require a significant change out of tooling or pressing machine parameter development.

I don’t know man, we’re all guessing and hoping. Let’s hope they drop the mesh soon.

Otherwise could be until the next bond movie when they update - like they did with the Specte v2 (updated it 4 years later when NTTD was out and people started taking an interest again)
