Hey guys, I received my VSF V4 today. I am truly amazed by how light the VSF bracelet is as compared to a ORF bracelet. And also the Color tone is better on the VSF.

Yes, I received it too today, this watch looks great from VSF. Thanks to this forum thread contributors who give guidance what to look out for and the TDs. New stock of VSF have lesser QC problems than previous batch too I supposed.

Does anyone know if it’s an issue that the V4 winding is abut grindy or gritty or is abit less smooth? Does it need a service?

Well, afterall it's just a 30 dollars eta clone. There bound to have quality variance amongst each maker.
If the V4 is really top notch, I would consider seriously putting a Swiss ETA into it

I wanted to post some impressions of the NTTD VSF v4 i received from Geektime.

Indices and Bezel Alignment is good, looks like a very accurate rep.
Lume is weak but well done.
Mesh Bracelet looks good from a distance and is accurate rep.

Cons:
the color of Hands doesn't match the dial indices
Movement feels grindy
The crystal seems cloudy sometimes and hard to read.
Bezel slightly moves, even when clicked in (Any recommendations on how to fix this?

Color of 12,3,6,9 indices. This is a hard one to capture and I didn't notice this in the QC photos and cannot capture it in any photos from my phone. But the 12,3,6, and 9 hour indices look slightly off from the other indicies. It seems as though the paint job is slightly crappy and in the center of each of the those markers its grey or darker then the rest of the indice and the other ones. As if the paint job wasn't done properly. Anyone else notice this? This is the big negative for me, and brings out my OCD. LOL.

Bracelet:
Looks good but is uncomfortable for my wrist size. 7 inches. Its either a little to small or way too lose. No microadjust, Also pulls my hair a bit.
NATO looks very cheap.

Its a nice rep but not on the level of the VSF Kermit I also received. If I keep the watch, i will probably have to just wear it on the NATO as the metal strap is not so comfortable..

Overall same feedback. You can try to buy a ORF bracelet as the fit is abit different but heavier.

Tomorrow I'll receive a vsf and I'll compare the quality to my orf. Anyway I think factories put more effort to make great Rolex reps because there is more demand, IMHO.

I've just received my Vsf V4 and I must say that quality is similar to my Orf, I think it's not worth 100usd more.
Orf has better case shape and bracelet.
Vsf has crown and caseback with smoother edges, a clearer crystal and thinner clasp, but the hands lume color is pinkish and definitely different from indices.
Vsf stem is really long and it seems fragile. Movement is gritty on both.
In the pictures you can see Orf on the left and Vsf right.
Probably I'll keep only one in my collection, maybe I'll keep Vsf watch with orf bracelet and I'll sell the other parts.

I have the VSF v4 and it's quite distracting because the colors are different than the dial indices.

To mix the lume with the exact colour to that of the markers would be a very tough job.
You might be better off to relume everything to give a consistent colour scheme

Thanks for the comparison buddy. I wonder why you stated that the ORF have better case shape and bracelet?

What I can tell from your picture/comparisons, the ORF bracelet is not as 'flattened' as that of the VSF, as the gen is quite flattened. Also the case on the ORF seems to be very sharp, not as rounded as in VSF, to a point it makes the ORF looks like a prototype in progress? If you look at real life photos of the gen (or any gen omega) the case edges are not extremely sharp.

I will say that ORF has better lumed markers. But what can you tell about the 'grained pattern' of the dials in comparison to gen?

You're the one with the watch in hand, so really appreciate it if you could offer more insights/observations.
