I have recently seen perfectly fine VSF NTTD reps. In this very same threads some days ago. This one, for example, is flawless:

I do not believe that the generalization in your statement is accurate.

Think what he meant was that quality is a bit hit and miss right now. Some might look better than others externally but I’ve had a couple of movement issues with post raid stock. I’ve also got a vsf spectre Aquaterra - that’s got scratches on the hour markers (you can’t see stuff like that in pics but in real life you see it). I also picked up a cr/ti SM300 and the 12 marker fell off Enroute. I Never had this many issues with vsf watches before raids...and I buy a LOT

exactly what i meant thanks mech. i just meant the examples are all over the place. some literally have bleeding bezel insert paint. And they're being recycled between buyers. I'm sure there are some great ones also; jsut hard to disprove this batch being previously RL'ed watches that are being sold again.

Biggest thing for me is mech had a VSF with hand lume paint that was similar to the indices but now most if not all i've seen are a weird pinkish shade that was previously already addressed / fixed by VSF; looking like the $250 version made by AGF or whatever.

One question why pay over a grand for a bracelet for a rep? Do you want people to think it's a genuine watch? Just wondered, sorry this question is meant for the owner of the bracelet Bkhwkn

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the forum
Not a creature was stirring, not even a noob;
The watch cases were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The rep-addicts were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of VSFs danced in their heads;
And mamma in her ’kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a NTTD V4 on the trade section revere,
From a fellow collector, tired of his Box Queen,
I knew in a moment it wasn't a dream.
More rapid than an eagle I shot him a PM,
And he whistled, and shouted, and told me his PayPal;

I managed to bag this unicorn from our esteemed member merlynmanson1000 on Christmas eve. Even though I paid for it, it was about as good a Christmas present as I could ever hope for. A full, pre-raid set, complete with the NATO and leather pouch. I know I'm a crappy photographer, and promise more pictures with better lighting, but in the meantime, behold:

Also, the darker pouch on top is the one shipped with the VSF V4 back in the day. The lighter one I got for peanuts from AliExpress. I provided a link for it quite a few months back on this very thread, so use the search box if you want one to complete your set. It may not be as accurate as the one from VSF, but it's dirt cheap and to my humble opinion actually better than the VSF rep. The 007 logo etching is much crisper and the velcro straps are more useful than that springbar tool pocket.

Forum is full of members putting gen parts on their reps, has nothing to do with conceiving others it’s gen - no one outside is lot on this thread will know. The people modding watches have collections worth more than peoples houses. It’s part of the hobby

Because I f it’s a titanium strap (omega are now selling SS versions) then I would suggest it’s more about the experience than look… 99% off people can’t tell the difference, but the comfort of a titanium strap would be totally noticed by the wearer.. a must ‘upgrade’ if you can!!

Since the NTTD has been available, a full titanium mesh has been the No 1 requested upgrade, everyone wants it, so when someone gets one I can’t believe anyone would question it!

Congrats for the watch and the poetry style and thanks for the bag advice!

Cause spending a grand on a bracelet, for me takes it out of the replica market, what would you do if they bring out a new replica bracelet and it's titanium and charge you say $800 just for the bracelet?

I get it, that’s your prerogative, you asked the OP why he spent that much on a strap, I gave you an answer as to why I would do what he did, assuming I had the funds. You would rather not do that, and I totally respect that.

As we’ve moved through the VSF models, the feedback through the TDs is ‘titanium mesh’, but for whatever reason they never did, maybe it was on the plan before the raids, maybe it was too expensive to do for a reasonable price point, who knows, but I think it’s realistic to think that no one will be producing a titanium strap anytime soon, especially when people are more than willing to buy the watch with an SS one. If they do great, but in the mean time, if you really want titanium your only choice is OEM, and so we are back at the start.

And what about steel bracelets looking closer to titanium? I remember a few pages back people mentioning titanium coatings or sand blasting. Did those options got somewhere?

Since the case is titanium, the SS bracelet adds a lot of weight while wearing it. I think the titanium tone is one issue and the weight is another. So even if anyone brushed it or recolour it, the weight will still remain.

One of the bigger problem is that the rep buckle is SS whereas in gen it is Ti. A huge weight difference here

Someone on here asked if I could get them a genuine bracelet, So i phoned Omega last Saturday, was like the 3rd degree, asked why I wanted another one, said I wanted a spare, they said why? we can repair or replace your one. Then they wanted my serial number, I put the phone down. As you say, must be a lot of people after these bracelets.
Also this may be daft to say, but if you are going to spend a grand on the bracelet, make sure its a good fit. I am lucky for me it fits perfect on the last hole, but they have had a few people moaning about the fit and digging into the wrist. Also with the bracelet the watch is so light you can forget you are wearing it, makes it easy to catch and scratch it, £100 to polish the clasp as I have done it. Still prefer my Casino Royale Planet Ocean, now that feels like a watch

Wow they are so strict on selling the bracelet itself. Seems like even if I had the cash it would be hard hahaha

Omega have got ridiculous on parts supply now. I have a gen bracelet on my ORF Seamaster and struggled to get that as well. Luckily I had a gen at the time so used that for the details but wouldn’t be able to do it again I don’t think. You can’t beat gen fit and finish on bracelets for any brand in my opinion.

That is something I was concerned, having tiny wrists like I have. I wear mine on the second to last hole, it could be a bit more comfortable but I am happy with how it fits. For me the weight is really not an issue. I wear considerably heavier watches and never found them to be uncomfortable. For me it really is just about that slightly different finish.

VSF on the way and got this Phylida NTTD-inspired watch in today. It's not terrible for the price. No glaring defects, keeps good time (PT5000 movement). The indices and hands are polished unfortunately. Bracelet isn't great.
