Don’t know why trusty calls it the v2?

The stainless version was actually V1. Considered a prototype in most regards.

V2 is titanium, it’s still a great rep with decorated plate but mine still had a gold balance wheel. The only issue with the V2 was the slightly thinner bezel numbers most noticeable by the gap between the top of the ‘20’ and the outer edge of the bezel insert.

Hi All. I recently got a V4 and i've noticed that the dial is ever so slightly misaligned. If i align the bezel to the dial then everything is about 1 click out of alignment. Anyone got any idea how easy it would be to realign the dial? I come from the world of Seiko modding, and have hand removal and setting tools, and have removed plenty of Seiko movements and dials before, but they have dial feet for easy alignment. Does anyone know how the dial in this watch is attached to the movement? Anything I should look out for with my inexperience of this movement?

Thanks for any help!

It’s doubtful it’s the dial that’s misaligned here. The bezels have left to right play and the insert may not be properly aligned. Pictures would help.

The dial is attached into the movement with 2 dial feet that sit into notches within the movement itself and held into place with levers. It’s unlikely the dial feet would have been manufactured in the wrong place. But you never know, there could always be a bad batch I suppose.

My V3 arrived today.. better than expected! Only gripe is the bezel action is not rock solid. There is about 0.3mm play in it which is an immediate tell if you use the bezel, and kind of annoying considering gen watches in this price bracket manage to nail the bezel action but there we go. Visually it's stunning.

Wind some thread under the bezel, gives it pressure and much nice action

So my V4 just arrived. I’m suitably impressed with the improvement in bezel numerals and dial markers from the V2 (flipped last year) I’m also impressed with the amendments to the bracelet, I no longer have the exposed extra bracelet peering out from the underside of the clasp.

All in all. Very happy. I’ll likely get an oem nato for regular wear but until then it’s nice to be a member on here again.

Any ideas how to solve the noisy rotor issue?

Thanks for responding, it looks like the movement/dial literally needs shifting clockwise by a few mm. On the Seiko's i've dealt with there is usually some play where you can rotate the movement slightly. I'll take some pics later and post.

The stem is set at the 3 o clock so this will mean there isn’t much wiggle room. Not a few mm’s but you can give it a go.

Try removing the back and simply loosening the screws that hold the movement to the case to then wiggle the entire movement while still in the case. Then screw back down if you can get it to line up. 1mm flat screw heads should be the only tool you need to loosen the case clamp screws.

Looking at it closer, I think it might be the bezel insert that is ever so slightly misaligned. Short of taking the movement and glass out so I can get to the back of the insert to try and remove it from the bezel, has anyone tried to remove the bezel?

A bezel removal tool is probably best bet. Movement and crystal being removed just to get to inside edge of the insert doesn’t make sense!

It will press fit on and off using a click spring so no need to dismantle the watch.

Check you tube for videos of the old style Seamaster, I expect this is the same mechanism. (I will stand to be corrected though!)

Above photo really illustrates how the milky crystal makes the dial look dull. Apart from that, this has the potential to be the perfect watch for me.

The new Crystal with AR from the Factory (VSF supplier) is on the way to me. Keep you updated if it will be an improvement.

Nope, the Rotor wont fit as the Movement is fitted in a big Deco Plate which can not be removed as its working as anMovement Holder. The VSF Rotor is much higher than the standard eta rotor.

Check some pages back i made a teardown and posted pics, you will see.

Having seen the comparison images of the gen and v2, the rep crystal looks and behaves identical to the gen.
