The color of the brushed steel bracelet is really not noticeable to me to warrant trying to go to the trouble of attempting to paint stainless steel.

So, I'd open by saying the bracelet definitely exceeds my expectations. I think this is the watch I was hoping to have when I bought the first version earlier this year. The weave pattern is far nicer, the brushed finish is great, and it feels much higher quality than the first version with the fliplock clasp. I also counted the "beads" on the gen bracelet and it's 16 beads per diagonal row, which is replicated accurately on this bracelet. I think the "flatness" of the beads is also a huge step up from the original bracelet, it's one of the qualities of the gen bracelet that I think makes it feel very sort of mid-century-modern, with the standard milanese mesh but with a very flat, sanded finish that feels modern. The rep bracelet seems to nail that. Additionally the thickness taper looks very accurate to the gen, I'll have to try to take some close comparison photos to see if it is in fact similar in that regard.

My bracelet also locks nice and tightly. I don't seem to have the issue with the clasp not completely closing on the hole pin, it looks like there may be some discrepancy in the weld of the pin that may interfere with that. In that instance those with the issue may be able to file it down?

I've tried my best to take some halfway decent photos, I still want to try to perfectly replicate the one well-known photo of the watch with the sandstone background but these will do for now. Trying my best to show off the quality of the bracelet.

Wow, this totally changes my opinion of the V3.5 bracelet. I have the v3 mesh and this looks way nicer. Good work.

How does this bracelet compare to the staib? Thickness, feel, etc?

The V3.5 bracelet is nice. I knew they'd be able to replicate the pattern. Looks very close. But let's not forget that as mentioned before by some, it has the issue whereby the mesh is not being able to stay in place once it is sized. The flap would open and the mesh would slide out when the buckle is released. I guess the thickness of the new mesh doesn't fit well with the existing V3 deployant clasp. VSF needs to get that rectified. Plus the Omega flap with the pin is also still inaccurate.

This is not an issue with the mesh though, it's an issue with the clasp and therefore hopefully rather easily rectified. However it also seems to be more of a manufacturing tolerance issue, as some people seem to have the issue rather severely while mine luckily doesn't seem to have the issue whatsoever. It locks tightly when I latch the pin down and does not come back up.

The Staib is still thicker and heavier by a fairly substantial margin, but the new bracelet still feels very high quality. The only VSF bracelet I had to compare it to was the v1 mesh but that felt very cheap in comparison. It looked like a $15 milanese band you can pick up on Amazon. This feels custom/premium, like something you'd expect to get for paying a fair amount extra over the cheap goods.

I'll take some comparison photos with the Staib in a bit. Biggest thing is that the Staib does not taper at all, in length or thickness.

Did anyone get the Travelpouch with the watch in the latest sales?

The V3 mesh which I already have is already good enough so I'm not gonna fork out for the 3.5. Unless VSF makes further changes on it such as changing the Omega flap to make it look more accurate, fixing the qc issue that some have faced with it, or better yet, I'll gladly wait out for a titanium mesh ;)

It's frustrating that to get the bracelet to at least 98% accurate or even a full 100% accurate (weight notwithstanding) copy is purely a minor cosmetic issue. By this point it's a 100% certainty that VSF can replicate the look of the gen bracelet. They just need to get on with actually doing it.

I wonder....if I cut and paste this entire thread into a word document and searched for the term ‘titanium mesh’ how many times it would be repeated!!!!

No one really talks about the watch anymore! How are the bezel numbers looking these days oh and and the size of the dial markers being too small, why don’t we want these giveaways to be perfect but the micro mesh weave pattern has to be?

When was the last time someone actually commented on the metallic compound of the bracelet of your watch anyway.

^^^^ Wow. Why so emotional? With all due respect, the mesh is part of the NTTD watch and unlike others in the SMP line, for the NTTD watch, the mesh be it steel or titanium, the weave and all more or less makes the watch what it is. So forgive us for wanting accuracy for the mesh.

The dial markers and bezel markers on the V3 is close enough so that's probably why most of us just want an accurate mesh. But hey if VSF wanna make improvements on the markers and all, that's good, but the current ones are already good enough that I feel they aren't exactly deal breakers. And if they can come up with a titanium mesh later on, even better.

Anyway.... I'm still enjoying my V2 on the V3 mesh. Cheers!

100% agree. There's still several inaccuracies on the watch itself so i'd much rather the factories focus on perfecting the case, dial, bezel, hands etc...after all, that's the main focus when it's on the wrist.
